Data infrastructure
Using local data infrastructure may be the best method to secure organizational data against third party access. However, there are various threats to data when stored using conventional methods, such as using physical data centers. Firstly, data is subject to physical risks, theft, and downtime during maintenance. To overcome these issues, the company must run several copies of data from different platforms, which guarantees data security. However, these cases only apply for a limited number of system users. As the company develops, its number of processes increases, calling for faster processing speeds and uptime. Also, all potential visitors to the system must feel comfortable while querying information from the system (Satish Kumar&Salimath, 2012).
Cloud computing migration helps the organization operate at minimum costs since it replaces most management cost with a subscription cost. In the case provided, Spotifymigration to cloud computing helps improve reliability, efficiency, and cost safety. The earlier cost incurred to manage servers, secure data-centers, and also buying the hardware is reduced to almost zero. Therefore, the company can focus on its productivity rather than maintaining its data.
