Hello, as Chow Yiwen’s academic advisor at the undergraduate stage, I have been with her throughout her study at Peking University. I am delighted to recommend her to apply for the master’s program in global financial news (GBJ) to pursue journalism and communication at Tsinghua University. Yiwen has currently accredited the certificate of “English News Reading” during the fall in 2016. I have been monitoring her, and she has demonstrated the virtues of a news anchor or in the field.

during “reading English news” and “special topics for journalists,” course, Yiwen had always taken the assignment seriously as part of his job career. During her project representation, I was astonished as I thought I was viewing the current issue news about the University’s current affairs. She demonstrated excellent results in both courses. She is hardworking and always leave no stone unturned when researching about a topic to the extent of being in social groups, confronted me through email to discuss issue she had difficulties with. She has both knowledge and fluent in both Chinese and English language as this has been portrayed during her motivation talks in-school programs, interviews, and in written form during exams.

Due to the passion of nature, social, and environmental concerns, Yiwen has adapted herself to the domestic learning environment and strives to make breakthroughs. She not only pays attention to essential knowledge learning but also often exchanges and studies with Chinese classmates. She is good at combining professional knowledge and applying it to the practice on and off-campus, which I appreciate very much.

Yi wen was curious and demanding as she took part in campus activities to improve her ability. She once served as the host of Peking University radio station. Currently, I am the leader of the interview team of jing sheng magazine of the Malaysian students’ union in Beijing and have published the jing sheng 2020/20. Besides, she has also participated in different college competitions and won awards, such as the 2018 Beijing regional college fast consumer challenge held by Procter & gamble, and the 2017 Peking University international young leaders’ summit held by Peking University, which won the best performance award in the case competition. The student also participated in a national “China story, yushu journey” competition held by the Himalayas in 2017, and went to yushu as an intern reporter to cover related issues of post-earthquake reconstruction. Yiwen, who has rich internship experience, also went to Hunan satellite TV for summer practice in the columns “one station to the end,” “the world,” and “comment on the new.”

After more than two years of understanding, it can be seen that wen is a well-developed student who has a Yistrong interest in journalism and communication and related disciplines. Therefore, she is recommended to XXX and is expected to be approved.

It is my great honor to recommend Cao Yiwen for admission to the University of Tsinghua University for a master’s degree in global financial news (GBJ). I got to know Yiwen at her journalism and communication studies as her professor at our University. At that time, I had understood and known Yiwen, and I was thoroughly impressed by her commitment to understanding journalism and the hidden aspect of communication and literature. During this time of her sophomore year and the media and Chinese society, she was in her elective course in her junior year. I appreciate her acuity to news and her earnest and studious attitude in class.

While taking my communication and journalism course, Yiwen demonstrated an extraordinary interest along with the ability to analyze classical news aspects and ask about their authenticity, validity, and the method to convey such messages when it comes to the public. In her project, she demonstrated a sense of independence and creativity in alluding to the current political and social issues affecting people in her community, such as poverty and Medicare.

I noticed that she is determined and could carefully read the additional materials and literature I recommended in class and ask me after class about her thoughts and questions about the reading materials. At the end of the semester, she presented papers that showed her summary and innovation of the course content. With intense curiosity about Chinese media and international context issues, she demonstrated a good self-learning ability. Besides, Yiwen is good at both Chinese and English and likes the second language as she is aspired to perform and deliver her knowledge worldwide. She can read any Chinese and English literature and has excellent writing ability. I believe this will help her a lot in her future graduate study.

Furthermore, Yiwen has an excellent academic record. Due to her enthusiasm and creativity and exceptional performance, she had won a full Chinese government scholarship. In addition to studying in class, her extracurricular life is also very colorful. During my course “media and Chinese society,” she participated in the third China-Asian youth congress held by Peking University in 2018. She acted as the representative of the Philippines on non-traditional maritime security issues. She took an active part in various college competitions both inside and outside the University, such as the Beijing regional college fast consumer challenge competition and the Peking University international youth leaders’ summit, and achieved outstanding results.

Throughout the course and project completion of journalism and communication, Yiwen has demonstrated an understanding of being a well-developed student. I can say that Yiwen has a strong interest in journalism and communication and related disciplines. Therefore, she is not bound at ant ramification of adhering to any set rules either in social or academic.
