According to him being successful depends one ones popularity and how one is liked by people, which simply means the more popular one is, the more successful they are. The more you capture many people and become liked by them and the more you become popular amongst the people the more successful you will have become.
Willy also believed success was just by luck and one could just get lucky and find themselves stumbling into success. For instance, his brother Ben just “fell” into his diamond fortune which made him a successful person.

TWO
Willy Loman does not fit the typical profile of a successful salesman as presented in this course.
This is because he believes success depends on luck and being popular. He believes that if you get to be liked by people, it means you have become successful. He also believes that you can just be a successful salesperson by luck, you just find yourself stumbling into success.
Being successful entirely depends on hard work and having ambitions. one must be willing to go an extra mile to achieve their set targets.
A successful salesman must possess some key qualities that are essential for his success. These qualities include responsibility, empathy, focus, optimism, ego-drive and optimism.
A focused person has some internal drive to achieve his goal, they also are organized and knows what they need to do in order to achieve their goals.
For a salesperson to be successful, they need to be optimistic. They have to be persistent since the field of sales faces a lot of rejections. A optimistic person will be able to stand sales rejection and will not take it to be personal but will rather look for ways to turn the situation around.
Successful salesman must be a responsible person. They should not be people who throw blames to each other when in a difficult situation but people who take responsibility for any situation and do their best to deal with the situation as it is.
THREE
Arthur Miller had a bigger point to make more than just sales.
He is simply teaching us that life is generally made of hard work in order to achieve what one wants. One must set goals in anything and strive so hard to achieve them and that no one should sit down and expect to succeed by luck.
Ben does not strive to achieve success. He happens to get instant riches without hard work. He found diamonds in Africa and this instantly made him a wealthy man. Willy holds on into this kind of success and just follows the path of being successful without working for it. This does not end up very well for him as he ends up taking his life when things don’t turn out as he expected.
In selling, for one to be a successful salesperson, they need to be hard working and ambitious. Do not just expect things to happen by luck but rather have ambitions and work towards them.
