The thoughts of being in the same situation were overwhelming, and I could not get myself over it quickly.

Thoughts of not surviving after trying different ways to escape eventually mean that one would end up dead. After being choked by the smoke and finding it hard to open the door and the window, the thought of eventually succumbing to death came to my mind. It is difficult in scenarios such as this for one to survive as the chances are minimum. Lastly is the thought that if there was a chance of me surviving, will I change from my current behaviors and be a different kind of person, or I will continue with the same habits.

Emotions elicited while imagining the story is that of sadness and deep fear. The mood suddenly dampen due to the experiences in the story. It was difficult for me to pull a smile, and a feeling of emotional quietness started creeping. Also, with the events and different actions in the story, I experienced deep fear due to sudden unhappiness and thinking about if I could be the one in the same scenario. At last, it was a relief that it was only imagination and nothing real about it.
