Describe one new thing you learned from reading this article.
- Education is quite a complex aspect of life from the way we understand.
- From the overview of this article, I have learned something fundamental when it comes to learning. In life, we gain new facts every day. It is indeed true that there are some of the facts that contradict what we know.
- Learning should involve the process of gathering, remembering as well as processing factual information and also use to make sure they are applicable in real-life situations (Londe, Stephen,n.d., 2015).
- In general, learning involves applying the knowledge we have gained to solve real-life problems.
- Describe one technique mentioned in this article that you will try to do this semester in this class.
- This article provides various techniques that can be applied in real life.
- As a student in college, I have gained something on what to do as a student in a learning process.
- Learning, as mentioned, is a process that involves two steps; understanding and remembering (Londe, Stephen, n.d., 2015). For me, if there is one of the technique I feel I need to apply and improve on is the aspect of remembering.
- As the article suggests, there is a need to focus on the information you want and even organize that information into understandable sections. To remember things, this semester, I will try to consider relevant information on the material I am reading.
- This is one way of enhancing your memory to remember things easily. Besides, diversifying my study methods will also be helpful this semester.
- Describe one technique mentioned in this article that you do not think would work for you.
- Repetition andelaboration are of the study techniques I feel cannot work for me.
- The article suggests that repetition helpsto keep a piece of information in a short term memory.
- Elaboration is also a challenge for me.
- One of the challenges of engaging in elaboration is the hefty task of engaging in multiple activities while studying, such as writing, drawing, verbalizing, among other techniques (Londe, Stephen, n.d., 2015).
- Although they help to act as a stimulus to your brain cells, for me, repetition is quite cumbersome.
