Descriptive Essay:Martin Luther King Jr.
Martin Luther King Jr. was a famous civil rights movement activist who was majorly interested in calling out for the observation of the rights of African Americans. He was born in 1929, and as a Christian minister, he was perturbed by the growing level of racism and segregation, which occurred during the time (Lischer, 2019). He felt that a significant change needed to be adopted in line with ensuring that blacks are given the kind of treatment they deserve (Biography, 2020). The process would, generally, be crucial in enabling blacks to feel well-taken care of. Right until his assassination in 1968, he was vocal about the use of nonviolence and civil disobedience. This narrative aims to provide a detailed physical description of King.
King, being African American, had a dark complexion, brown eyes, black hair, and he was 15 feet, 7 inches tall. His cheeks are deflated and stick inwards to the mouth, therefore, not easily seen when someone is looking directly at his face. His ears are pronounced outwards making it much easier to see the earlobes when one is looking directly at his face. However, the earlobes are not as much pronounced. They are only seen vividly because the ears are pronounced out. Generally, his face is smooth and does not contain any distinctive marks, spots or pimples.
He had an oval-faced head, with his chin slightly pronounced downward. Thus, it is possible to notice the chin compared to any other part of his face. His eye-lashes are less, pronounced and have an upwards orientation right from the mid-nose region. The eyes seem to look in a different direction. The effect of the situation is that it makes his face of seeming more solemn. Therefore, it creates an element of seriousness. The moustache of Luther King jr. has a downward orientation, thereby, making it blend in within the rest of the different parts of the face. The moustache fits in well with the upper lip, which is less pronounced as compared to the lower lip. Further, the lower lip is a little bid redder as compared to the upper lip. Generally, they are often closed, and it is not easy to see his teeth unless when he is talking, laughing or singing. The nose of King is average and fits in mid within the face of King. Therefore, it is less capable of taking specific notice of the nose of King, based on the fact that it only fits in comfortably within the face and blends in with other parts. Also, since his nose has a downward orientation, it is less likely to see his nostrils unless he is looking upwards.
To sum up, as established, the physical characteristics of King are essential in enabling one to quickly recognize his face or image where they happen to see it. An individual can differentiate him from a group of other photos where they happen to be placed together. By considering the different parts of the face of King, it is possible to recognize him, based on the distinctive characteristics which are essential in clearly identifying him.
