Position- Sales executive specialized in contacting clients and describing various advertisement opportunities. The role demands explaining pricing and costs and managing the client’s needs. As a sales executive of the media company, I would be selling the company’s advertising space across various communication channels.
Types of education/licenses- The sales executive should be sociable and must possess oral and written communication skills. Possess the ability to persuade clients and have good listening skills. Basic educational requirements include a graduate degree in marketing or business and five GCSE A-C grades, including Maths and English.
Other experience/skills required- After applying for the job position of a sales representative, I would be expected to communicate across television, digital screens, outdoor billboards and create eye-catching phrases. Company profile- Prime Media Group is based in Australia and was founded in 1986. The media house reaches around 5.5 million potential audiences (Primemedia.com.au, 2020). At present, the company employs 1247 employees. The offices or branches are present across the Gold Coast and in regional Victoria as well as NSW. The main source of revenue is television advertisements. The approximated annual revenue is $161M, and it operates within the information and broadcasting industry.
The present condition of the industry- The television broadcasting industry in Australia is facing challenges. Annual revenue is shrinking at 3.6% since the past five years (Ibisworld.com.au., 2020). Australians are consuming information on other platforms, and it has negatively affected the television broadcasting industry.
Main and secondary competitors- One of the leading competitors of Prime Media Group is the Australia-based advertising agency, George Patterson Y&R. It gives stiff competition as its major clients are Colgate Palmolive and Tatts. Secondary competitors are Becker Entertainment and News Corp Australia (Asx.com.au., 2020).

The reason behind meeting with a client- A meeting was arranged with the CMO of LG Electronics because the client has been worried about the shrinking needs of their electronics products in the Australian market. The client wants our company to create an attractive advertisement on television to increase their company’s reach to a wider audience.
Place of the meeting- At Prime Media Group office, Canberra, Australia
Identifying the key decision-maker- In this case, the key decision-maker is our management team as they would analyze the degree of trust with the client and then work upon creating the advertisement campaign.
Additional information required from the client- The degree to which the advertisement of their electronic product would be edgy or creative shall be questioned, and satisfaction parameters shall be noted from the client.
Task 4
The problem- The client’s dilemma would be resolved by creating an engaging television advertisement on LG Electronics Laptop, one of their products.
Product features- The created advertisement would be simple and suggestive. The need for handy Laptops shall be highlighted. Features like size, screen quality, RAM shall be highlighted in the advertisement.
Product benefits- The television advertisement would involve a catchy phrase and highlight the portable nature of the laptop. The ability of this product to fit easily in the backpack/travel bags shall be promoted so that the client and customers feel like purchasing it.
Information pertaining to the product- It would be beneficial to find information about the product using the company’s website. Detailed information about the laptops would be available on the website, and this, in turn, would help us to create an advertisement based on facts.
