Discussion 2 Maryland Education Reform
It is worth establishing that the reforms that are proposed in the Maryland reform, especially the one that builds expansion of the pre-schools, especially among the children from lower social status. The change will facilitate the outcomes that are brought out from students that come low-earning families hence, minimizing income inequality and the skills gap. The reform further focuses on the strategies geared towards expanding the teaching career, and salaries will not be sufficient, especially among kids to improve their success pattern ion the schools (Gaines, 2020). However, the reform is specifically concerned with the motives of teachers, instead of allowing students from low-income families to benefit. Moreover, the cost of implementing the change surpasses the benefits that will be accrued among children in society.
The reforms also indicate the approach to improve the curriculum programs that are carried out in high schools generally. It will hence, expose students from low social status to have the capacity to access the STEM programs; therefore, having equality in preparation for applications in the colleges. The reform has fewer costs as compared to one that intends to educate teachers and further raise their salaries (Ford, 2020). Consequently, improving the curriculum in high school levels enables one to avert from the widening gap in the skills gap that is revealed in the society. The reform also establishes on the development of an accountability and supervision board charged to review the schools to determine the need for funding. Hence, it is correct to indicate that this will maximize the allocation of funds, thus, minimizing wastage.. Don't use plagiarised sources.Get your custom essay just from $11/page
