DRUG ABUSE AND ALCOHOLISM
Drug abuse and alcoholism have dominated society to the point have resulted in violence and negligence. In most cases, it has affected the children. The adults have developed the negative characters and behaviors in the society where after the consumption of alcohol and drug abuse has brought about violence in the homes and children experiencing traumatic experience and parents ignoring their responsibility at home such as failing to provide basic need like provision of care to the children (Fagan, 1993). The adults engaged in the drug and alcoholism, have been unable to perform their duties at work and misuse the finance as they consume in purchasing the drugs and addiction. These have affected economic development and some quitting and losing a job due to the misuse of drugs.
Health Concerns
The adults involved in drug abuse and alcoholism have presented issues of psychological imbalances and resulting in affecting their socialization and health. Mental torcher has extended to appoint of influencing the children life’s due to the redouble experience with their parents; this has changed their focus in life and perception of the family. The adults in drug abuse have resulted in mental, psychological problems and ending up to rehabilitation and psychiatrist services. Emotional Detachment and Violence
The children raise in the family with drug abuse, and alcoholism has had issues of emotional detachment with their parents. Due to violence nature after the use of drugs has affected the lives of the children’s emotional balance and adopted the violent nature and act violently. Their socialization is a challenge, and they exhibit the character of violence. These children have engaged in violence with colleagues, and while in school, the teachers have had these issues. The children have ended up being described to be wrong and called terrible names by the teachers due to high temperament and fights in school (McCreadie, 2002). These have brought stigma in these children and affecting their emotional attachment in society. Some children get the responsibility to take care of young ones due to neglect from the parents and change them psychologically for they do parenting. The children have been exposed to violence and having negative family cycles.
Stabilizing Mindset of Children and Taking Action
Helping the children affected by drug abuse and alcoholism has been so essential to change lives and to inspire. The children need counseling and therapy to fix the emotional attachment and be able to interact with other kids in society (Odgers et al. 2008). Therefore the focus on treatment should also be done to the parents at the family settings. These will help to provide a proper environment for an effective treatment for both the children and family engaging in drug abuse and alcoholism. The rehabilitation Centre makes it right to help the addicts and helps them integrate back to society. After school programs such as sport time, homework time, and craft time and weekly counseling of kids are essential. These programs will be of great importance to the children in school and ensure they have the right environment in school and after school. These programs have also helped to keep off the children from the streets from drug abuse and alcoholism.
