Drugs storage and maintenance
Drugs should be stored well and in different places according to the diseases that they cure. They must be locked well in an excellent conditioned place. Medications should be out of direct sunlight and in a place where the temperature is between 59 degree and 86 degrees. There are procedures and protocols regarding the handling, storing and monitoring of drugs.
There are three common interlaboratory variabilities, lack of systemizing of laboratory procedures and workflows starting with sample collection and handling, lack of use of appropriate reference materials for example isotope and bad habits of storing medicine in the laboratory without following the rules and regulations that is validation and training of proper personnel. To increase the quality and interlaboratory comparability, the procedures should be well supported in the laboratory (Seger, Shipkova, Christians, Billaud, Wang, Holt, and Marquet, 2016). When drugs are in a health facility, they have to be preserved very well. Medicines should be stored in their containers because if they are misplaced, or their containers are changed, they can reduce their effectiveness hence leading to drug abuse, on the other hand, accurate and many more tests are the best since they help to give the most reliable and best dose adjustments. Information from many sources has helped to give out the best variability. Don't use plagiarised sources.Get your custom essay just from $11/page
Deanna should store her inflammatory locked cupboard, or refregretor.it should be out of reach form the public, small children or any other intruder. Where the drugs are stored no other thing should be kept in the same place. In every room that a drug is stored a thermometer should be placed there and monitored daily to check if the room has met the required conditions this helps to control and monitoring of storage and transportation of medicinal products.
Labelling of the inflammatory drug is essential because there might be other medicine even for pets, and if human consume them, it might harm their health. This also prevents the wrong dosage or taking the unspecified drug for a specific disease. The name of the patient should be included there; for instance, in this case, Deanna should write the name of the drug. Maintaining hygiene is also very important such that you will wash your hands before and after coming into contact with the drug.
Aspirin, ibuprofen and meloxicam which Deanna carries home they should be monitored well and also check on the expiry dates. The medicines should be handled carefully, and when he is giving his family to relieve pain when they are sick as first aid, he should be cautious since that might end up poisoning someone. ( Wagner, Chan, Dashevsky, Raebel, Andrade, Lafata and Platt, 2006) measuring of plasma level is very important before taking the pain reliever medicines. This helps to monitor specific patients suspected with noncompliance.
Metformin used commonly for people who have diabetes should be well handled since they are used in long terms. These drugs are specialised to reduce diabetes mellitus and renal insufficiency to a patient having been diagnosed with them. Contradictions of the drug have been noticed before due to lack of proper observance. Though the aged are commonly known to get the risk of getting the disease, the most contradictions include heart failure, liver impairment, renal impairment and respiratory problems. It is a significant risk to give them the wrong dosage or medicine that has not met the right conditions. ( Leung, 2019). Labelling of the drug brings a notable change to the patients and prevent them from enduring more problems.
Distribution of drugs from the health facility should be given to the restricted medical prescribed group. The doctors should monitor a particular patient; know how the drug might have some side effect on the patient. For instance, a person suffering from ulcers should not at any cost be given medicines with a high percentage of acidic because this will lead to more illness. This makes it necessary to monitor the negative side of drugs. The treatment plan must be considered correct, and no section should be left undone, including the signature of the specialist who must be well known, the stamp and the patient’s demographics.
Medication should be bought with allocated funds and handled carefully large stocks are not quit advisable to store since they might expire and also their integrity might reduce due to overstaying. The right medicine should be given to the right patient and at the right time. The hospital can buy medicine which can be managed by the patients.
