The likelihood of a person to have disorders in eating is not inevitable. Aspects of anxiety, depression have led to increased chances of a person’s unconditional variances in eating (Brownell, & Walsh, 2017). Social factors contribute to eating disorders when individuals believe that thinner is better in one’s life span. As per Frank, (2016), researchers and scientists have identified that presumption of being thinner can increase body dissatisfaction, hence eating disorders. Obesity from individuals due to overweight leads to discrimination and some people end up stereotyping (Frank,2016). As a result, it becomes an unbearable situation for some individuals in society.
One peer-reviewed study about eating disorders was a summarized qualitative interview from 27 Latina mid-adolescent girls (Mitchell, de Zwaan, & Wonderlich, 2018). The number which was interviewed was ranging 14 years to 16 years which gave their perceptions and views regarding body shapes and sizes. The girls stated clearly that the shapes and the sizes of their body are considered valuable, especially in the culture of Latino and European American. The girls’ discussions with agemates about the general body outlook were basically acceptable in the community. Recent literature shows that the organization should focus on raising limelight about eating disorders and making treatment options available to the victims of eating disorders.
Through learning resources, eating disorders perhaps emerge during adolescence and young adults. As a result, it is associated with significant psychological and physical torture among the victims. As per Mitchell, de Zwaan, & Wonderlich, (2018), identifying evidence-based interventions is essential and there is need to take contents of the actual literature. Clinical practice should be informed based on a thorough involvement of researched future ideas which identifies loopholes through based evidence.
