Ecotour vacation at Tijuca National Park
An ecosystem I would like to visit
Ecotour vacation is an essential activity that I should recommend people to participate in at least one time a year. In my view, the best country to visit via an ecotour vacation in Brazil. In that regard, I would select the Tijuca National Park, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil as my eco-tour vacation site (Gámez et al., 2019). The central reason for selecting Tijuca National Park is a beautiful landscape that provided a variety of activities to someone who likes nature. Besides, I select this site because it provides a beautiful view of the forest towards the summit of the Tijuca peak.
Habitats, Plants, and animals at Tijuca National Park
The general habitats in Tijuca National Part are characterized by a variety of plantations, animals, and physical features. Besides, Tijuca National Park has the summit of the Tijuca Mountain as the highest point. Thus, I will cross urban forests by car to observe different animal and plant species. In terms of plant species, I will encounter about 67 threatened plant species in terms of vulnerability, endangered, and critically endangered (Gámez et al., 2019). In terms of animal species, I will encounter animals such as bat, squirrel monkey, porcupine, opossum, fox, and Nine-ban armadillo. Some endangered animal species to encounter include golden lion tamarins.
Activities and adventures
In the Tijuca National Park, I will be engaged in several activities and adventures. First, I will adventure the forest by crossing through the Tijuca Forest by car. I will also participate in hiking, especially by climbing the summit of Tijuca Mountain. On the Mountain, I will have a panoramic view of the city of Rio de Janeiro. Another activity is photo shooting where I will take photos at Sao Conrado. I will also enjoy the view of Monkey’s Waterfall that create a scenic viewpoint for people on vacation (Pegas & Castley, 2014). I will also swim at the Taunay Waterfall to cool me down after hiking at the summit of Tijuca. Lastly, I will view the aquatic species at the Solitude Dam and look at the Native birds.
Why is my vacation an ecotour
My vacation at Tijuca National Park is an ecotour because it will assist local communities to preserve the environment. When crossing the forest, I will plant several indigenous trees that will upgrade Tijuca National Park after it suffered deforestation by sugarcane farmers (Pegas & Castley, 2014). In terms of traveling, I will register with one of the travel agencies in Rio that will take care of transport, accredited guide, entrance fees, and accommodation. I will be staying at hotels in Metro station where the travel agency will be picking me up and dropping me off. My vacation is an ecotour because the money paid with going to local inhabitants to promote carbon storage, water balance, air filtration of pollutants, and climate regulation. Some of the money will be used to dispose of the trash generated during the vacation.
