Women have increased in the labor market and the crime market in the world today. Generally, women have desired to have the same opportunities as men, especially in the labor market. However, with a lesser scale, there is an increase in women in criminal activities. This means that crime is not only for men but also for women who need to be investigated more. Despite women committing the same crimes as their counterparts, the judicial system seems to be more lenient to them. Countries such as the United States has taken the initiative of looking for a solution that will help cope with the rising number of women in crime. One of the ways that the American government is focused on as a solution to reduce the number of women in crime is education.
Notably, men are known to commit more crimes than women. This shows that most governments have focused in solving cases that involve more as the criminals and not so much on women. However, according to statistics, the amount of crime commented by women in the United States has increased tremendously over the past decades. Women have accounted for a third of all arrests, both white-collar and property offenses. On the other hand, the one-fifth of arrest for violent crimes. This means that when they graduate, they will have a hard time getting a job; thus, they can choose to commit crimes so that they can earn a living (Oreopoulos, 2006). On the other hand, according to different studies show that education can reduce crimes when introduced to people at a younger age. For example, when a randomized school admission lottery is introduced to students, it gives them the opportunity of attending public schools, thus reducing their chances of committing a crime when they grow older. Thus, the black community is a great example of how great and effective education can be in improving the lives of many people. This action has made the government of the United States consider using education to fight crime in women. The first place to focus on is on the small girls. This is a great opportunity because small girls are not exposed to many things that may contribute to their participation if crime activities. Good morals are best introduced to young people because they tend to react well in doing good than when adults. This means that the small girls will grow with good morals; thus, the chances of not contributing to crime are very low. The other category of women is married. Married women are more likely to participate in criminal activities because they are more influenced by their husbands (Cano-Urbina & Lochner, 2019). As a result, when they get an opportunity if being introduced to an education system that mostly focused on family structure. If they learn the importance of education, they will definitely look for work that will keep them busy, thus having no thought of joining crimes. Different research and support systems show that it is possible for education to have a significant impact on the development of women’s lives and change their perspective about life and crime.
Conclusively, education is an important tool that has been proved to reduce crime in the society. As a result, it can be used to reduce crime, especially in the aspect of women, because they are easily changed by education systems. With a higher rise in crimes in women, it has been known to be a major factor that can cause a lot of problems in the United States. Therefore, it is the decision of the government of the United States to make sure that they have reduced the impact of crime caused by women and education is known to be the main solution that can be.
