Introduction

A leader is any person that leads or directs or anyone having authority to directa group of people. This leader should have admirable qualities and also special abilities such as being an eloquent speaker and virtues such as kindness and also honesty. Anyone aspiring to be a leader should have special area of their life that will influence their ability to lead. This text is a summary explores some theories of leadership, disciplines of Peter Senge, authentic leadership as well as system and also tournament and pair bonding.

Leadership theories

            There are four main leadership theories; the first one is transactional leadership, here a leader fosters compliance by the group he is leading by providing rewards and also administering punishments. These leaders are able to motivate the group for a short period of time.

Another theory is transformational leadership. The leader here works with a team in order to spot a needed change, come up with a vision and also getting into work the change by using the committed team members (Tichy, et al., 1996).

Situational leadership occurs when a leader of a certain organization is forced to adjust his way or style of leadership so as to fit the level of development of his followers achieving high level of influence (Blanchard, et al., 1993)..

Last theory is servant leadership. It is a philosophy where the main the objective of the leader is to serve. Some good examples can be found some political and religious leaders. Qualities present in them include active listening, awareness and foresight.( Stone, et al., 2004)

Peter Senges five disciplines

The first discipline he came up with was shared vision is when a leader come up with a vision that is strong and common for all his follower. He also made the mental models where some frameworks that have assumptions and also generalization affect how we perceive or world and live in it. The third discipline entails personal mastery; he claims that these are set of principles that will enable one to create a vision of their own and develop an objective view of the world. He also comes up with team learning where he says that it is special skill developed for a certain group for solving problems as well as learning. And lastly he talks of system thinking; analysis that focuses on parts of a system and how they interrelate within a context.

Authentic leadership

           It is an approach that majors on developing learner’s legitimacy through honest interactions with followers this increases their value and are founded on ethics. It has ethical components such as self-awareness and relations transparency.

System

A set of things working together as parts of a mechanism or an interconnecting network or relationships. It has to be circular and every part should be involved. That is the public, policy makers and clear steps to solving a problem shared.

Tournament and pair bonding
