This semester has been the most exciting for me because I have been able to find myself in term of my emotional stability. My plans seem to have fallen into place through hard work because I have been able to maintain my grades at a desirable level with my G.P.A. this semester being 93.63, which means a lot to me. The feeling of seeing good grades offers the motivation that my future is bright academically and hopefully professionally in future. Good grades play a significant role in determining the success of a person and improving remains my main concern for now. Personally, the feeling of doing well in my classwork translates to happiness because striving to work hard and then seeing the success in good grades makes my experience in studying a worth one. Moreover, the most important thing that I have gained this year is the level of wisdom through interacting with other people. In this college, I can say it offers one unique advantage, which is a large community of local and international students. The vast number of students from different background makes sharing of our culture, which helps users in respecting other people way of life. The success I have seen this semester has made me increase my confidence in tackling any difficulties that I may face in the near future. The feeling that I can achieve more and become a success story continues to inspire daily by doing well academically and socially.

My goal this semester was to get an A in my studies which I have done successfully through hard work and discipline. I am glad that my G.P.A. this semester stands at 94.33, which to me means a lot because of the required time and resources in accomplishing such good grades. I have also made positive strides because up to now; I have earned 61 U.C. transferable units with expectations that by the end of 2019 fall, I would have earned 20 U.C. transferable units. I can certainly say that I accomplished my goals through learning new concepts and more importantly maintaining stability in my studies with other social activities. The first step I took in planning my time correctly so I could not miss any class and assignments deadline was planning. Having a well-written plan about the whole course in terms of what time I should be reading and taking my assignments and quizzes. Planning is what I would say was the most significant step that I took in ensuring that I accomplish all my goals.

My primary goal was to get a G.P.A. score of above 92.0, so I can be able to pursue economics as my major, which required me to meet specific criteria to eligible for the opportunity. I would say that I strived to achieve my goals, although I had to sacrifice most of my time into studying so I could keep pace in all the assignments I was supposed to do. The first thing is studying the course outline, so I could be able to grasp what the course entailed and how I was supposed to navigate through and reap all the knowledge that I was required in doing my assignments. I believe that for a person to succeeded one has to start from the basic to understand the next steps to take. The second things that ensured that I achieved my goals this semester is the ability to do extensive research on the different topics and concepts that we covered in class. I would say that these two steps were the pillars in achieving my personal goals of doing exemplary well in my academics, although I feel that I could have done more.

Writing I would say was the academic skill that I comprehend very well while taking PD100. I am always interested in doing research either online or in-person and being able to understand the rules of writing is fundamental in coming up with a better and precise interpretation of information. The Course entailed writing a lot, and I got to practice a lot along the way which improved my writing skills significantly. I think I was able to learn a lot because as a student all my assignments I had to research and write a note down the critical points that they were worth remembering. Translating all that information required that I write my assignments and the knowledge that was provided along the course proved to be necessary. I have been able to know different forms of writing research papers and curriculum vitae which are both critical professionally and academically. I was able to eliminate any unnecessary information when writing my Curriculum Vitae, which is essential in finding employment in the job market.

Ten years from now, I see myself as a senior investments analyst in a multinationals company. I have always wanted to impact lives positively, and I believe my career choice will play a significant part in ensuring that I achieve my goals. Academically I have been able to get a good G.PA in most of my chosen course which makes me eligible for a major in economics in the Santa Barbara City College. I have a projection that my U.C. transferable at the end of this fall will have hit 20, which is a significant step in achieving my personal goals. The success in exams has facilitated my inspiration to believe that I can be a competitive lady analyst in a world where globalization Is rapidly taking place. I plan to pursue an upper course in economics so I can realize my dreams to be an investment analyst. This job requires a person to be disciplined, intelligent and thoughtful to be able to achieve the success of a company. An investment analyst has to acquire a bachelor degree in economics in finance, accounting or business, which is crucial in my chosen career. My living environment can be described as typical for a Chinese student living in the United States, where I always have to mind the language I use. Few friends surround me because I am not so great at socialization, but the few friends are very close to me, and I always feel like I can share anything when they are around. My relationships are very few compared to most people in my living environment which can be attributed to my introvert nature. I have a close relationship with my family members whom we have developed a friendship where one is not limited in airing his/her views. My romantic relationship is dormant for now, but I hope in future I can find someone I can spend the rest of my life together. The successes in life have majorly academically because I have been able to achieve most of my personal goals of attaining the required points in pursuing economics.

One of the most important lessons I have learnt in SBCC is the advantages that come with interacting with other students and institution staff. There is so much to learn from people experiences in life which translated to acquiring knowledge and wisdom. The lesson of interaction has been valuable because I have been able to understand the different culture of the students I have interacted with and also improve my communication skills. Interaction with other students and staff members has positively impacted my life because I have learnt how to excel academically and remain focused on my studies. Learning through the experience of others is the only I have gained wisdom. Learning and adopting various reading methods that have been effective for other students is essential in doing well academically and socially because, in the process, there is a likelihood that you are going to make a friend.
