Day in day out, technology continues to creep into the market, home, workplace, school and in other fields. According to David Rose, there will come a time that devices such as umbrellas, cars, wallets, watches and many others will be much innovated. These devices will be able to respond to our needs, get to know us and even think ahead on our behalf. These devices are what we refer to as enchanted objects. The concepts, importance and impacts of enchanted objects to the life of an average individual are best exhibited below.
Enchanted objects can contribute to living well and travelling safely. It is not uncommon to forget to take to medicine. The author, David, makes a magical device that uses light and sound to remind a patient when to take pills. Also, self-driving cars are safer as they reduce accidents, traffic jam and the hustle of looking for a parking slot. David gets his inspiration for a crystal ball when developing a device called Ambient orb. This device lights whenever there is a change in information or state in stock values. Also, the idea of protectors’ or guardian is applied to Ambient umbrellas which glow so you may not leave it behind whenever it is expected to rain (Rose 19). Thus, enchanted objects are seen to make life easy by reminding us of things and by showing directives.
They are useful in learning and developing skills. Enchanted objects can help to build and promote one’s abilities. The guitar hero, for instance, is an excellent example of a magical device that overturns the learning curve. It helps the learner to develop the required skills gradually. Also, enchanted objects can help children learn through play by developing their brains. LEGO inbuilt, which has a sensor to touch, sound and light, is an excellent example of such a device. They enable the kids to manipulate their toys and get to learn in the process (Rose 32). Enchanted objects help escalate skills and educating children.
The most useful enchanted objects will be wearable and functional. These devices will enable distribution of valuable tools all across many devices, unlike a smartphone which holds all apps together. An example of a wearable device is the sun sprite. This device is developed for people with Seasonal Affective Disorder. The device is charged by the sun and is used to measure whether the wearer is receiving enough sunlight (Rose 56) as seen enchanted objects can be worn on the body and can function effectively.
Personal impacts of enchanted objects. The kind of innovation that has developed and is continuing to creep in is unmeasurable. Technology is doing the unimaginable. At a personal level, enchanted objects have enormous impacts on the life of an individual. They have changed the perception of technology, innovation and enchantment.
The future importance of enchanted objects. These objects are meant to make life easy and enjoyable. Their usefulness in the future is beyond measure. They can help to manage finances by the idea of the wallet that tightness as you continue to spend (Rose 87). They are an efficient and a better way for business people, leaders, technologists, designers, entrepreneurs and anyone who wishes to get a glimpse of the future. Knowing the future helps you to prepare well for whatever is coming. Therefore, enchanted objects are beneficial for and in the future.
In conclusion, in David’s vision of the future, the technology combines itself with the objects that make up the fabric of our daily life. These objects which we have referred to as enchanted objects can are useful in various ways. They can be used to remind people things like taking medicine or carrying an umbrella in case it rains, and they can be employed on vehicles to avoid road accidents. Also not to forget, they help to promote skills among other great things. Enchanted objects are indeed the face of future technology.
