In the first case, the word mountain is used to represent the lifestyle that the marginalized people cannot reach without experiencing lots of difficulties. Disabled people are considered to be in the category of the marginalized people, who are said to be lazy, unattractive, and lack strength. These negative traits have resulted in them being looked down upon by the people on the mountain since they have been unable to climb the mountain. When the marginalized people decide to climb the mountain, it becomes unimaginably tricky, and very uncomfortable since almost everything always fall out of place. The marginalized people either choose to settle where they are or go back down the mountain since up on the mountain is lonely. The returning down the mountain is influenced by the comfortability brought by a pleasant environment where people are loved and appreciated.
There are numerous stories of people with disabled people doing the extraordinary things that people find it difficult for them to do. For instance, a down syndrome person learning how to drive, a blind person hiking from one end to another, a guy with one leg participates in a race across Canada, and many more stories. All the other people focus on is the achievement the disabled people have done in overcoming their various disabilities. Even when they are continuing with their daily lives, the other people see their deeds as a symbol of inspiration, which to them is simply a sign of pity from the people. In the real sense, all the disabled people want is to be treated usually, and given an equal opportunity in doing what ordinary people do in their daily lives.
In the second case, the members of the blacks, queer, brown, and trans came up with a movement called Disability justice. This movement provided a platform for the marginalized people to air their needs, and their concerns, alongside with their stories of what they experience in their daily lives. The founders of the movement were mostly authors; therefore, a lot of stories about the marginalized people were put in writing. The books provided an opportunity to air out the small facts about the lives of the disabled people that the other people were unaware of. The writer talks about doing his work from bed and getting an opportunity to work alongside the movement. The writer wrote many pieces about culture since writing is what brought a sense of normality to his life. The Disability justice movement helped the writer to view his ability to doing work from the bed as a sign of creative practice rather than a sign of weakness, or inability to be a real writer.
