For a long time in all parts of the world, women’s sports personalities are not paid the same as their male counterparts. The tread has been witnessed in the US men and women national soccer teams. In 2018, the US men’s national team did not make it to the world cup. This is after loosing being to Trinidad and Tobago team. The US national women soccer team is one of the most successful soccer teams in having clinched the World cup title four times. The team has also women won four Olympic gold medals ad eight CONCACAF gold cups (Parken, 21). With all this disparity in these two teams, the US women soccer team is still paid less compared to their men counterparts. There is a need for equal pay between the men and the women’s sports personalities. Even much, there is a need for equal pay between the US men soccer and the women’s soccer team, which has, above all, maintained its success for a long time (Von, 19). Despite the many attempts by the women globally to champion for an end to the disparity in pay which exists in the pay, most of the bodies concerned with the regulation and the payment of the sports personality have not realized the need for equal pay in the two genders. The US women soccer team has, in the longest time, brought fame to America and placed the US on the global map in terms of soccer. The team has championed equal pay as their male counterparts in various ways without success. In the recent development, the women team has sued the US soccer Federation USSF for gender discrimination because they are paid less compared to their male soccer team counterparts (Schultz, 27).
This disparity in payment should come to an end. Women, the same as the males’ counterparts, need an equal level of appreciation to encourage them and others to start appreciating the women’s sports. Equal pay for women sports personalities will also is the first most crucial step towards reducing the element of gender discrimination. The US women soccer team, which has in the past performed better than their male counterparts, need equal payment as the first important step towards fair pay between the two genders in sports in the USA. This will set an example for equal pay in sports between mane and women in the country and set an example to the world from the most civilized nation (Parken, 21)

The disparity in sports payment in terms of gender has been an issue of concern. Globally, men athletes and sportspeople are paid better than their female counterparts. This has also been witnessed in the US, where the US national women soccer team is paid relatively lower compared to the men’s soccer team, although the women team do perfume better than the men. There is a need for equal pay between these two US teams to help set an example towards a change of the disparity in the sports to pay globally. It will enable the whole world to start seeing the need for equal pay between the two genders of ports personality.
