In the Stop being Lonely, Kira Asatryan explains more about loneliness. Loneliness is not believed to be necessarily when a person is alone but instead it occurs when a friendship lacks knowing, caring and mastery steps. Closeness is all what is required in a relationship and by following the above steps of relationship, closeness is undoubtedly achieved (Kira, 33). People are exposed to situations and dissatisfying environment and finally begin feeling a sense of isolation. Closeness facilitates friendship. Being there for ones needs makes a relationship moving .In the novel, Reason to Breathe, love ,caring and knowing characters of a person results to a good relationship and a feeling of satisfaction in one’s life regardless of how the situation is difficult. These characteristics are portrayed by Sara when she opts to love Emma and advises her on the phase of life she should take in order to succeed in her life. On the other hand, In the Stop being lonely, the author bases her argument on the importance of closeness in friendship. According to her, closeness is all what can cause a feeling of love and care in a friendship.
Having more than one friend in one’s life does not satisfy the point of being in a lovely and caring environment, but the closeness of one’s friends is what brings a feeling of satisfaction and care in one’s relationship. According to the author, a long-term relationship is achieved by cultivating the closeness. Closeness in a friendship drives away loneliness (Kira 43). This closeness is created by act of knowing and caring in one’s life. Love, care, loyalty and mutual affection results to a true friendship according to Rebecca Donovan, Reason to Breathe. On the other hand, Kira Asatryan, Stop being lonely points out that closeness is what it means by having true friends. There is a connection between the arguments of the authors in that, though love, care and loyalty results to a lively relationship according to Rebecca Donovan, they lay the bases of closeness which results to true friendship according to Kira Asatryan. Basically, for one to succeed in a long-term relationship, closeness must be entailed within the friends one chooses to have in life. Significantly,( Kira, 61) having a single friend in life, who displays love and also care leads to one’s full satisfaction in life compared to maintaining hundred friends who will serve as a source of disappointments and hardships in life.
Reason to Breathe, by Rebecca Donovan clearly points out on what should actually be done in order to succeed in a hard situation of life. This is evident on what the characters in the novel portray. Notably, one needs not to shout out the problems besides his/her life to everyone. It really brings no change but instead multiplies the problems. Understanding ones friends simply brings hope and an individual is in a position on whom to tell in order to get help (Rebecca, 110). Emma does not shout out the difficulties and mistreatment from careless carol but instead keeps the burden to herself. Finally, Emma discloses to Sara, her best friend on what she undergoes. Sara takes the initiative and advises her accordingly. People should show love to friends as we can see, after Evans gets to know all what goes on around Emma, he covers her and we can see life going on nicely on the side of Emma who was initially subjected to threats from Carol. This spells out well on the kind of friends to avoid or adopt in life.
