Evangelical Christianity

My theology and ministry have played an instrumental role in influencing my faith in Christianity. In my view, I consider them to be inseparable. Specific theological traditions that hold believes and ideologies on ecclesiology and Christology have acted as building blocks in shaping my ministry. Since I was young, I believe I am more evangelical in my faith rather than liberal. Too much exposure to evangelical Christianity laid foundations in my ministry and ideologies that are in line with the doctrine. Evangelical Christianity holds beliefs that are central to the conversion of being born again experience in receiving salvation and in spreading the Christian message. It is such beliefs and sentiments that have not only shaped my ministry but also helped me to get a profound experience of evangelical Christianity.

I tend to align my belief, faith, and ideological views on Christianity that are in line with the evangelical doctrine rather than the liberal doctrine in my ministry. This belief is due to reasonable teachings from evangelistic seminars and churches I attended that persuaded me to hold believes that are central to Jesus Christ, his natures, and of the relationship between his divinity and humanity. Such believes and sentiments held by the evangelical community have been crucial in formulating fundamental doctrines that deviate from the liberal concept. I tend to disagree with specific ideologies held by liberal theology or Christianity. Specific ideologies like in not basing its ideas to an external authority bring arguments that tend to be not justifiable in defining true religion.

The word of God has always sparked considerable interest in me. I have always felt a great responsibility for doing something for God’s work. Through evangelic teachings and deep experience with the doctrine, it enables me to enhance fundamental ideologies and believes that have significantly shaped my ministry. I believe in the necessity and emphasis on the conversion experience. The conversion experience is of integral importance in justifying one’s faith in Christ. This can only be achieved through repentance and turning away from sin for one to receive salvation. Salvation is the only tool that differentiates Christians from non-Christians.

The Bible is the primary and ultimate source of religious authority. The Bible is the final authority that reveals God’s will to humanity. The Bible acts as a medium in providing biblical inspirations on God’s work and revelations to humankind. The Bible offers ways in which God can intervene in the lives of a believer through miracles. The miracles described in the Bible are in the form of healings or leadership success or the birth of a child after several attempts. Miracles represent God’s intervention and salvation, which are relevant and exist within the life of a believer.

I identify Jesus Christ as the redeemer and the ultimate salvation for humankind. Christ’s work on the cross is the ultimate salvation and forgiveness of sin. Salvation is experienced by having faith in Jesus Christ and not dependent on good deeds or good work. Believers have to trust in Jesus Christ for their sins to be forgiven and for salvation to be imminent. Besides, there is a great need to spread God’s message through evangelic missions. Evangelic missions are of great significance in proclaiming and spreading God’s word in spreading the gospel. This evangelic mission can be conducted through organized missionary or personal interactions with believers.

In conclusion, the evangelical doctrine is fundamental in influencing and enhancing my Christian identity. With the above-mentioned scriptural concepts are crucial in not only impacting my theological work but also in shaping my ministry. Specific evangelic ideas that I hold on the Bible, evangelism and a central force on Christ as the ultimate redeemer are of immense value in shaping my pastoral work and spreading God’s message to the world.
