Evolution of a Nation after Dictatorship

Introduction

Since its independence in 1985, the Republic of Krypto has experienced civil and political unrest under the dictator Raymond Krutz. Recently, the dictator was overthrown, and a newly elected President took over leadership. This paper delves into investigating the ongoing civil wars across Krypto as a result of the recent overthrowing of the dictator. It further examines the challenges the newly elected leader is facing regarding developing effective domestic and foreign policies aimed at restructuring the country’s political, social, and economic systems.

Domestic Concerns

Democratic Government

Democratic governance entails more than just a government designing a constitution that stipulates and upholds the ideals of justice, equality and liberty, and the constitution capacity to preserve these values among the citizens (Fein Proaño, 2015). The democratic style involves the process by which the government employs instruments, principles, and policies that structure and combine the functions of the three arms of government, the society, law, and economy. Consequently, I would implement the democratic form of government revolving around the process of co-existence and respect, governing, and order in which the citizenry and government officials respect the rule of law and rights of the people.

Branches of Government

The arms of government will include the Executive, the Judiciary, and Legislative. The executive branch will be crucial in enforcing the laws and will comprise of the executive departments, the Cabinet, and the President at the federal level(Silva, 2016). The President of Krypto will administer the executive branch. In addition to enforcing the laws, the President, together with his Cabinet will have the sole responsibility of allocating necessary funding. The responsibility of making the laws of the country will be vested upon the Legislative branch. However, due to the dynamic issues surrounding the country’s political system, it would be necessary that the legislative branch establishes laws that will help all the arms of government to understand why, how and the effects that the actions of the state are effective towards its restructuring(Silva, 2016). On the other hand, the Judiciary branch will encompass the Supreme Court of the Republic of Krypto and will have the duty of interpreting the laws passed by the legislative branch.

Domestic Policy

            The two domestic programs that the Krypton government will develop to improve the public good include universal healthcare delivery and quality education for all. The universal healthcare program will focus on ensuring that every citizen, regardless of their socio-economic status, race, age, and gender, have access to healthcare coverage(Fein Proaño, 2015). In other words, the program will be designed in a way that ensures equal access to healthcare services, including palliative care, rehabilitation, prevention, treatment, and promotion care, without the citizens experiencing the risk of financial hardships when paying for medical care.

Secondly, the government will implement a program focusing on providing citizens withequal access to quality education. In a bid to improve the standards of living in the Krypton society which is currently undergoing restructuring, the government will seek to increase the literacy and education levels in the country by ensuring that the citizenry have equal educational opportunity irrespective of their cultural background, religion, ethnic background and race(Ma‌‌‍‍‍gstadt, 2017). Consequently, the two domestic programs will be crucial to the public good of its citizens since they will be tailored towards the socio-economic development of the Krypton society.In other words,having access to quality education will create different opportunities for the citizens by increasing employment opportunities, which will, in turn, improve their standards of living.

Economic structure

The civil led to the destruction of transport and communication infrastructure, which has significantly affected the country’s economic systems due to the collapse of trade. Therefore, there is a need for the government to implement an open trade system characterized by fewer trade barriers and tariffs(Silva, 2016). The open trade system will also facilitate logistics and border management, thereby integrating Krypto other countries through targeted investment and trade reforms.

Ways to Create National Unity

Due to the country’s previous struggles under the leadership of the dictator, it will be a concern for the new government to employ effective methods that will enhance national unity and national integrity (Ma‌‌‍‍‍‌‍‌‍‍‌‌‌‌‍‍‍‌‌gstadt, 2017). One way to create national unity in Krypto will have a federal charter that stipulates the autonomy of the state over natural resources. This will reduce conflict between the citizens since the government will have the autonomous right of exploring and producing the resources hence eliminating conflict of interest amongst the citizens(Fein Proaño, 2015). Secondly, it will be fundamental for the government to develop and implement cultural integration policies that will bring people together through various cultural practices and symbols such as dressing, food, and national festivals.

Foreign Policy

The country’s foreignwill aim at strengthening its military force towards ending terrorism. Some of how Krypto will combat terrorism and violence in the country include recognizing radicalization and working with international partners such as the United Nations to share information on terrorism. While focusing on its efforts towards combating terrorism, it will be necessary for the country to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO)(Fein Proaño, 2015). This will enable the country to form alliances with other countries with a stronger military strength. While doing so, the President will increase the country’s defense budget in addition to increasing its contribution towards a reassuring political alliance in NATO’s member states across Europe. On the other hand, it necessitates the country to join the United Nations organization to enhance its economic structure. Krypto will join the World Trade Organization (WTO).

Despite NATO granting each member states to select their independent security arrangements, it sets rationale of joining involving the fact that a country must be a functioning system that is founded onmarket economy, and that it upholds the fair treatment of the minority populations (Silva, 2016). Likewise, it is mandatory that the joining state has a commitment to resolving conflicts peacefully and embrace the willingness and ability to make military contributions to the organization. On the other hand, the WTO gives any country with complete autonomy in the conduct of its trade policies.

Conclusion

As the newly elected President, I will establish the new government within the tenets of the democratic government to realize the social-cultural, political, and economic reformation of Krypto. Additionally, it would be crucial to identify the three arms of the government, including the Executive, Judiciary, and Legislative, as well as their functions towards realizing the country’s evolution. On the other hand, it would be crucial to develop both domestic and foreign policy that will determine the country’s direction towards national security, due to the ongoing civil wars involving Krutz’s loyalists who are increasingly assassinating leaders, murdering civilians and terrorizing towns across the country.
