Evolutionary Psychology Essay

Question 1

A mixed reproductive strategy is whereby both the male and female mates participate at the same time in monogamous breeding. In this strategy, the male mates of monogamous animals are engaged in the provision of parental care for offspring and meeting other copulation needs (Brent 745). Both the males and females involved in a mixed reproductive strategy will exhibit similar psychological and anatomical characteristics in adaptation to the plan (Gallup 281). While animals will equally participate in the swallowing of Hirundo rustica, humans will similarly be caring parents with strong parental love towards their offspring.

Question2

The proverb ‘there’s strength in numbers’ explores the power of unity among a group of the same origin. The saying explains why most animals, both small and big, evolved in groups. Small animals like speckled tarsiers, magpies, and meerkats live in organized groups (Brent 745). They believe in communal ownership and unity among themselves. Gorillas and chimpanzees also believe in the power of strength in numbers. Such animals live together as a community and believe in the saying ‘live together; die alone.’

Question 3

Humans use aspects of race, age, and sex to process and recall the elements of one another. According to Rob Kurzban and other evolutionary psychologists, race outfits age and sex in the description of humans. People will easily judge people over their races than over their sex and age (Kotler 423). Sex and age are more of internal aspects than external ones as compared to run with a wide gap of disparity.

Question 4

Biological altruism relates to the principle of natural selection. Three key ideas explain the application of natural selection in altruism (Gallup 281). First, organisms strive to benefit others through their behaviors. The benefits and costs incurred relate to reproductive fitness and the number of offspring. Secondly, organisms exhibit altruistic behaviors that are positively assorted (Brent, 745). Their actions are similar across the organisms of the same group. Thirdly, the law of unity and communism is critical among the altruistic organisms. Through natural selection, the organism of the same originality lives in collective groups.

Question 5

Evolution persists throughout human activities. Watching media images over the magazines and on televisions keeps the human mind evolving. As the images are formed on the human mind, the brain develops ideas on how to make such images real (Kotler 423). This explains why some people will copy some behaviors and styles seen over the media. Indeed, the media plays a vital role in the modern form of human evolution.

Question 6

Two key ideas explain how musical abilities evolved. Both nature and nurture describe the evolution of artistic skills. Nature relates to the inborn strengths and interests in music, while nurture refers to the environment of upbringing that subjects people to music. In both cases, passion is fundamental for the development of musical abilities.
