Essay Details:
- 4 full pages plus Works Cited page (two textbook readings and one outside source; max. 4 sources)
Essay Recommendations:
- to form your thesis (to answer the question): read all the related text entries; consider your thoughts about the reading/s and what position you wish to take; select supporting evidence (citations) to optimize your claim; research outside writings that will support your thesis
- do not include anything not directly related to your thesis; that results in writing off topic
- your outside source must be a critical writing about the subject
- include a logical introduction that clearly states your thesis, a body with specific details and/or citations to support your thesis, and a conclusion
Proposal: Your proposal (in MLA page one format) must be approximately two paragraphs long, state your tentative thesis, and include the titles of the two textbook readings. This proposal can be used as a basis for the introduction to your essay. Bring three copies for peer reviews.
Outline: Must be in outline form (not prose) with enough detail to meet essay length, typed in MLA page one format, and include an MLA-correct Works Cited page, listing the two textbook readings and any outside source/s you are considering. Bring three copies for peer reviews.
