The family ties he was brought with started to weaken daily. He isolated his loving parents and his friends so that he can build his destiny as he had planned.
His downfall came later when the project he was focusing on became a nightmare. The project he was developing directly or indirectly consumed the people whom he loved. People need to create time for the family and discuss issues affecting them. After Frankenstein was through with his project, he returned to his family. It was too late since his parents had remained with few survival days.
They started to die one after the other from the effect of the monster he created. He fell sick during the ordeal. The theme educates the readers that the negligence of the family has permanent consequences. Failure of Frankenstein to have a good connection with his parents led to a developing project which killed his parents. The creatures were detrimental as they left him alone without none to console him. His parents could have guided him on the effect of creating monsters in society, but he decided to focus his project on his own.
Children should maintain good connections with their parents. Children should consult their parents when they want to develop a particular project for further guidance. If he could have asked his parents, he could have ended up enjoying more life with them as they used before. The monster he created did not receive nourishment and love at the initial stage. The creature complained to Frankenstein for being neglected, and it required a family connection to be happy. Even Frankenstein did not portray love to his creature. The creature tried to seek a company from the people who were not his creator since the monster had a close connection with them. However, the creature was not welcomed in any group since it did not portray the character and appearance of human beings. It was unique, and none could associate with the monster.
The monster shows the isolation he experienced from lacking supportive members as his creator had neglected him. Frankenstein required companion the moment he fell sick since his caring parents were no more to support and assist him during the agonizing moments. Frankenstein and his creature were both sufferings because they had none to share their challenges. Frankenstein physical health deteriorated, and also his creature was internally suffering from neglect, which led to the monster being violent.
Mary Shelly explains the importance of family since her life was full of miseries. Death was the central theme in her family. Her mother died while giving birth to her while her firstborn died a few days after delivery. Her husband and two of her extended family died too because she did not get enough time to attend them.
