Getting acquainted with my academic profile

It is true when people say that in order to maximize your return on investment, make sure you invest heavily in knowledge. Being a management student who is constantly looking for opportunities of self-development, I can bolster my argument that knowledge is the best thing a person can invest in. Coming from a family having a diverse background wherein my father is a Police Officer by profession and my mother, Senior Mental Health Professional, I have always been emphasized on having a strong command on practical knowledge.

Getting acquainted with my academic profile, I have always tried to give my best at academics, and to an extent, luck has also favored me. I did my class X and XII from Vishwa Bharati Public School, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, which is affiliated by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). In my class X, I was able to fetch a decent score of 9.2 CGPA with subjects – English, Science, Mathematics, Sanskrit and Social Science. After being eligible to take Science in my Senior High School, I took Physics Chemistry, Mathematics, English and Biotechnology as my core courses and scored 77% in the final examination. The subjects helped me build on modern scientific theories, learn the scientific processes and develop knowledge about the things getting evolved thus quenching the thirst of gaining knowledge of how the world we live in, works.

After acquiring, both practical as well as theoretical knowledge of Science, I decided to switch to Commerce for my further academics. Currently, I am pursuing my under graduation from Amity University, Noida. Studying courses like Marketing and Sales, Finance, Human Resources, Business Mathematics, Entrepreneurship, Operations Management etc. with utmost dedication, I managed to get a combined score of 8.29 CGPA for four semesters. The subjects that I found to be the most interesting among all were marketing, finance and entrepreneurship. My gradually enhanced knowledge in the field encouraged me to delve deeper in the discipline and inspired me to indulge in the habit of reading extensively to accumulate information about how businesses work in the modern times while evolving technologies, ethics and globalization are affecting business operations, methods and functions immensely. This acquainted me about Business Analytics, the discipline that is being used by an escalating number of organizations to improve profitability of business with increased market share and ROI. My orientation with the subject motivated me to build my career in the progressive field of Business Analytics pertaining to the opportunities that it offers to work intelligently on the challenges and make the well-informed decisions.

I can boast of leaving no stone unturned when it comes to extra-curricular activities. From my initial years in school, I actively participated in various activities and took certain positions of responsibilities which helped me acquire the art and science of management and leadership. I was the youngest member of my school cricket team, and also brought laurels to my school in the field of athletics and dramatics. I won third prize in interschool Sanskrit Skit. Also, I participated in chess tournament. Besides my contribution towards school in the field of sports, I also held the position of Council Member of my school. I was also an Executive of the Commerce Club of my institution. My participatory streak in the extra-curricular activities did not stop there. After joining Amity School of Business, I participated not only in team development activities, but also various prestigious events, intra-college competitions and international conferences like GLOBUSS – 2017. Along with my college, I worked part time at a Non-Governmental Organization named Anchal Charitable Trust. I also did a side course of Microsoft Office from Aptech Computer Education. I was a member of the organizing team of “Public Speaking for Entrepreneurs Workshop”, held in August 2019.

I have represented Amity University in AMIMUM (Amity International Model United Nations) in UNHRC committee as a delegate of Republic of China. I am currently pursuing a Digital Marketing course from the renowned organization – Accenture plc. I have also interned in a private company – Critical Care Unified, wherein my main task was to devise employee acquisition and marketing strategies. Again, my internship was a full-time field work, which helped me gain huge amount of experience in the field of marketing, and I actually learned how the corporate sector works. Added to these were the articles/ independent secondary research papers I had made during the previous 4 semesters. I did exploratory research on various companies in their various fields including Human Resources and Marketing management. I also did an online course of “The Marketing in the 21st Century” from The Open University of the United Kingdom.

With time and experience I developed an urge to undertake Business Analytics in my post-graduation and hence, desire to apply in the capacity of an eligible candidate for Masters in Business Analytics.
