Girls and Sex
In a PEGGY ORENSTEIN, Girls and Sex, it is obvious how girls are affected all-round the continent. For instance, just at the beginning where students are seated down in an auditorium, alternating, daydreaming and chatting with each other as the administrators drone on about the importance of attendance. The dean of students addresses girls on how to dress while in school. I conquer with the dean since the mode of dressing describes a person.
Although the dean was right, Camila being one of the students was not satisfied. She thought that her dressing mode has no problem with other people, she even went on saying that if a male teacher might be interrupted with her boobs, then the board must find ways of admitting teachers who cannot be suspended. She was seconded by other girls, yes, but the concept behind this is, they felt they are grownups and there dressing their choice, no one should bother about it. Even if it’s their choice as they think, but I guess they never get the point correctly, they never took time to digest the content from the dean; they didn’t consider the outcome of such.
Consequently, to some extent, Camila’s arguments are somehow correct. For instance, where she said that when she feels like wearing a tank top and shorts because it’s hot, she should be able to do so and that does not correlate with how much respect she held for herself. Since its cover cannot judge the book, then she was right.
In a nutshell, both the dean and Camila were right; the dean was right since he thought your dressing mode describe yourself while on the other hand, Camila was right since its cover cannot judge the book and her dressing mode has nothing to do with her respect.
