In this sense, air does not absorb heat fast enough hence causing the lighter to melt the balloon. He places the same lighter under a balloon filled with water representing the ocean, and nothing happens for a long time. The water in the balloon absorbs heat fast enough to prevent the heat from melting the balloon. The second experiment confirms that the ocean has a high heat capacity and usually absorbs most of the heat in the atmosphere caused by global warming. As a consequence, the ocean is absorbing a lot of heat that is in the atmosphere. It achieves this due to its high heat capacity. Therefore the video urges us to understand the problem we are facing due to global warming. There is a lot that we can do to reduce global warming. Most of the activities that we engage in usually use some energy mainly produced by burning fossil fuels. Burning fossil fuels releases carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. The video urges us to engage in activities like turning off the lights when we leave a room, taking a bike ride instead of using a car, powering down computers once in a while, among others, to avoid contributing to more emission of greenhouses. The video, therefore, is very informative as it provides information on the sources of greenhouse gases that cause global warming, the effects of global warming as well as the ways we could adopt to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases to the atmosphere. The information that the video shares have backing from research carried out by scientists like NASA. In this sense, the information from the video is verifiable and reliable. Additionally, a live demonstration conducted in the video is enough proof that various aspects of our lives will be severely affected by climate change. Aquatic life, that is, the plans, animals, and all the other organisms that live in water, are the most affected by global warming. As could be seen from the video, water has a high heat capacity; hence the water bodies absorb most of the heat on earth. The continual absorption of heat consequently affects aquatic life.
