An engineer having undertaken the engineering Management unit develops good interpersonal skills as taught because the dynamic society we’re in today requires an engineer with more developed social skills to enhance them to satisfactory deal with the demands of different environment and to engage stakeholders so as to work collaboratively (Lopes Daniele, Cecilion Mateaus and Aparecide Zilpa, 2015).
Employability includes the ability to find employment and remain employed. Employability also include hard and soft skills in both formal and personal characteristics (Senior Carl, Cubbidge, Nillson, 2010). It has also been noted that the present society considers good interpersonal skills to engage more stakeholders and technical vocational skills are becoming less important as society changes, the employer wants an engineer who can relate well with clients as well as machines this allows the engineers to produce what the client needs(Carl et al 2010).
This is greatly important in a producing goods that are needed by the clients because it increases demand of the product and ensures that no raw material goes to waste. Great proficiency is not only required in working as teams but also in handling client needs (Lingard et al 2011)
In conclusion, it takes a good resume to land on a good job but maintaining it can be a challenge because of many reasons in the market. Furthermore, there is no easy work and we work to solve day to day challenges. The attitude an engineer has at work is due to their interpersonal skills, it’s important to maintain a positive attitude in order to display the best of good interpersonal skills and to work collaboratively with stakeholders.
