Good Leadership

Beliefs of What Makes a Good Leader

A good leader is one who can mobilize their followers into action. The mobilization of followers is significant in ensuring a smooth and vigorous flow of activities in an organization to foster the efficient realization of set goals. A good should be able to inspire confidence in the followers. A good leader understands their followers and knows the best approach to inspire confidence in the staff members. Confidence is vital in boosting employees’ self-believe that boosts their ability to execute their responsibilities. Improved confidence bolsters efficiency and morale among employees, which consequently increases the output of the organization. A good leader inspires and implements change in an organization. The organizational atmosphere is highly turbulent (American, 2015). Organizations must continuously formulate and implement short-term and long-term changes to match the dynamics in the market, employee demographics, and technology. The leaders are innovative and quickly adapt to changes in the environment. Apt leaders are the epitome of appropriate conduct and mannerisms. A good is the best version of competence available in the organization. Employees copy from the leader how to conduct themselves ethically and professionally.

How Others perceive my Leadership Style

My leadership style borrows heavily from the transformational leadership style. The leadership style would receive various perceptions from my colleagues. The technique would be lauded for its emphasis on the mobilization of followers. Nursing requires unity and alertness in carrying out daily duties (American, 2015). Another significant point of praise would be on the ability of the leader to understand the demographics of the followers. The nursing professionals encounter diverse patients with situations demanding high professionalism in handling their behavior. My understanding of the staff will ensure that the allocation of duties and departments fits the personality and ability of the employee. My style of leadership would also be applauded for the strength of the leader to instill confidence in the followers. Every patient is unique. Handling new cases every day is best faced through confidence. Confidence bolsters the ability of followers to make fast and precise decisions.

Additionally, the ability to initiate change will be supported (Boamah et al., 2018). Like any other sector, nursing is characterized by many dynamics. The ability to transform the organization is vital for improved service delivery in daily activities. The style will be criticized for the inability to inspire innovativeness among followers. The minimal input by followers regarding the formulation of appropriate and improved policies would limit their ability to implement set strategies effectively. Another aspect that would not be supported would the notion created by the style that seeks reverence from followers. In my style, if the leader fails to impress or win the trust of followers, the organization topples.

The Most Beneficial Aspects

The most beneficial aspects would include improvement of innovations in practice, improved accountability for nursing care, influencing policy to foster health, and increased monitoring of colleagues. Transformative leadership does not address tthe issue of innovativeness of nurses (Boamah et al., 2018) adequately. The lack of innovativeness in nurses would lead to inefficiencies. Some incidences, like when handling emergency innovativeness is highly recommended to help minimize the severity of the case. Nurses must be inspired by innovativeness. Accountability of leaders will help them address issues more keenly, reducing fatalities. Policy creation is inevitable. The changing demographics can only be matched through the formulation of new policies that match the changes. The monitoring of nurses will keep them in check and increase their output.
