By 1993, he was working at Unibest bank as their vice president.

The company’s mission is to handle oil projects worldwide, and they also deal with management and acquisition of oil and gas projects in the development and exploration stages. The mineral resources they deal with include diamonds and gold. Boris Ivanov has been able to offer services to different organizations that deal with natural resources. The company also provides project-financing advice in different infrastructural and development plans.

When Boris Ivanov answered why GPB Global did choose Africa, his reason was that Africa had embraced modern alternatives to develop the continent. It attracted different foreign investors and expertise. Africa has created new opportunities because of the unexplored natural riches. They struck a deal with a Namibian company to build a power plant for them, the project estimated at $2 billion.
