Research
Gun control is a critical issue in the United States. Different people bear conflicting opinions and ideologies that influence this vital debate. For example, factors such as political orientation and its influence have been found to play a critical role in shaping individual perceptions of the concept. The question of if individuals should be allowed to bear and keep arms is often debated on various fronts and bases. The legality of this concept is found in the Second Amendment of the Constitution. Controlling access to guns is a vital issue that requires the evaluation of huge factors. Well-thought-out strategies must be implemented, such as more education and awareness creation on gun safety (“Gun Control – Pros & Cons,” 2020). For instance, one of the most critical loopholes in the system is the regulation of arms buying and selling.
The issue, being a highly political debate, is very divisive. It cuts across various filed such as work, school, and other crucial spheres of daily life. For example, gun possession in schools has been highlighted as a rising threat to our society today. The local, state and local governments have a challenge in this way. The historically documented effect of weak gun control measures has been seen as a grave problem citing the increased number of gun-related deaths. Various states are doing the best in fighting illegal gun possession and use. Although often dictated by political ideologies and values, these governments and their agencies understand the implications of various actions. On one part, some feel that guns in the hands of citizens make it safer. On the other hand, others think that more guns in people’s hands create an insecure, dangerous and potentially volatile environment (Schuster, 2020).
In conclusion, some of the various actions being taken include policy formulation and adjustment. These are just examples of the process of gun control. It is a vital issue that requires a prompt solution, else, numerous related problems that have cropped up will continue to persist as new ones arise.
