Happiness
Happiness is a fundamental emotion in people’s day to day lives. Happiness is a feeling of joy and contentedness. People seek happiness since it brings forth meaning to life. Everyone is in pursuit of happiness in his or her way. Different things make different people happy. What makes an individual happy may not be the same thing that makes another person happy. Happiness is not measurable and cannot be traded. Happiness is a positive state of mind, whereby one feels satisfied with his or her life, and is aware of things that make him or her happy, and it is also a choice that people have to make to remain happy continuously.
Happiness is the main goal of people’s lives. People do everything within their means to get or to remain happy (Chittister, 2011). Some people find hobbies, and others build relationships while others choose to carry out certain activities to be happy. Every individual has their version of happiness. One has to be aware of what makes him or her happy to pursue happiness. Some people misunderstand happiness and think that once they become rich, they will automatically be happy. These people spend most of their time working harder to acquire wealth and not taking care of their happiness, forgetting that material wealth does not guarantee happiness. Such people end up with frustrations in life despite their wealthy status, and they serve as an illustration that happiness is not as a result of being rich.
Different things bring happiness to people differently. One receives happiness according to what he or she thinks is pleasurable. For instance, one may be happy once they watch their favorite shows, another person may be happy after reading books, and another one may be happy by dancing. One has to do things that make them happy a lot. For example, a person who enjoys singing should sing a lot to be gain happiness. Those people who love tours should travel whenever they get the chance to. The simplest things in life also contribute to one’s happiness. For example, one may be happy because the weather is favorable to him or her, or even when a stranger smiles at them or their loved ones replied to their messages. Being happy is not complex and and one needs to identify what he or she enjoys.
Since happiness is a positive state of mind, one must find positives in every situation. Remaining positive is a choice that one has to make consistently. When one is at peace and ease, a state of happiness is gained. One has to find peace within himself or herself to be happy. When faced with challenges, one needs to choose to remain positive and not let circumstances depress him or her. For instance, when one loses a job, one may view it as the end of his or her carrier, while another may see it as a chance to better employment and advancing career-wise. A positive perspective of life makes people happy.
People in the world are looking for happiness. Happiness is a positive state of mind; therefore, one has to think positively. Happiness is also by decision. When one is faced with any situation, one may choose how to view the circumstance. When one chooses a positive mindset, happiness is attained. One may also have all the riches in the world and still not be happy. A person has to identify what makes him or her happy and pursue it. In the end, people have to know what they want and go for it to be happy.
