A good quality diet is essential in having stable health and improved physical conditions. In a bid to improve healthy lifestyles, most people have taken into the consumption of vegetables and fruits, which have earned them the vegan title. The initiative to go healthy has inspired the need to re-evaluate and find the appropriate food products to incorporate into my diet.

In the first place, I would like to adopt the art of taking vegetables and fruits. Most vegetables like spinach, green peas, and spaghetti squash are rich in filling fiber, a nutrient that reduces the constant need to take in junk and fast foods. Moreover, they contain enough water, which increases the food quantity. In the same way, most fruits like apples and oranges contain essential vitamins to boost immunity and are also low in calories. These vitamins and minerals will be of value to my health since they decrease cholesterol and blood pressure from building up.

Over the past couple of years, my diet has been pre-dominant with beverages and junk foods. They are always available in school and the food vending machines. In addition to this, the occasional burgers at Burger King and other junk food stores have been my priority. Because of contemporary health concerns, I want to drop the in-take of junk and fast foods. The majority of them are associated with increased cases of obesity and heart-related illnesses. The continued intake of this food can put me at a health risk.

After resolving to go healthy by watching my eating habits, I will employ several changes in my daily routine at home and while in school. The first habit I am going to stop is the frequent visits to Burger King after my classes. I will replace the habit by going through fruit and vegetable stores at least three times a week to increase my stock. I will also try out new produce availed in the store. Moreover, different seasons usually bring along different types of fruits and vegetable produce. In this regard, I will be taking in a variety of food at different times of the year. The final measure I will use in the selection of produce is to have a variety of fruits with different colors to reap maximum vitamins and nutrients.

Besides, my current serving habits are bound to change. Instead of the burger snacks, I used to carry and sometimes buy for lunch, I am taking vegetables and fruits as my new snack. The family fridge will also be packed with snack-size fruits and vegetables, which can be easily reached by my family members. Moreover, the family table will need to have fresh fruits, and I will do away with the intake of fruit juice. It does not enhance the achievement of immense vitamins and also has a large amount of sugar, which can jeopardize health when consumed for a long time.

Since some vegetables cannot be consumed raw, they ought to be cooked enough to boost the nutrients they hold and improve edibility. The preparation of vegetables is different from that of proteins because vegetables do not require a lot of cooking. I will embrace the new measure in meal preparation. On the flip side, I will be consuming some vegetables raw, especially when served with smoothies and a touch of beef products. And finally, into my change of lifestyle, I will add the daily intake of two different kinds of fruits and vegetables.

Generally, establishing healthy eating habits early in life will assist in the development of protection against conditions that come from increased consumption of junk and fast foods. These changes assimilated will mostly affect my daily habits and those of my family members.
