The most critical assets of an organization are the employees. The employees are a fundamental part of an organization and are responsible for achieving the goals and the objectives of the organization. In a funeral service establishment, employers have an obligation to train and maintain their employees. Motivating their employees is also an essential component that ensures they deliver the best services and, in turn, market their brand effectively.

There are various motivational theories that employers in funeral service can use. Examples are Maslow, Herzberg, McGregor, and Ouchii. Herzberg entails asking the employees when they felt good and when they felt horrible about their job. Ouchi motivational theory is based on employees who are committed and involved in the organization. Such employees are motivated through rewards such as long term employment and promotions, among other prizes (“Theory Z of Motivation: Meaning, Features, and Criticisms,” 2020). Therefore, through the motivational theories, it is easy to obtain information and motivate the employees.

Some of the factors influencing an employee motivation in a funeral service business are recognition of achievement, regular salary, non-financial rewards such as the creation of a positive environment, relationship with the employer, learning, and developing opportunities, among others (McNab, n.d.). The need to move from one step to another with a reasonable satisfaction of achievement can be an excellent personal program for self-motivation. Working well as part of a team, meeting deadlines, and targets are what motivates me to perform better.

In conclusion, the perception and attitude of the employees will determine how they will perform..
