How Plus Sized Women Can Dress Sexy This Coming Valentine and Look Good

Plus-sized women often have a problem when it comes to picking an outfit for any occasion – leave alone Valentine’s Day. One has to grapple with finding a piece of attire that actually works and fits in the right places. While you may want to put on curves that hug your curves while remaining loose and baggy underneath, it is not a good idea. You may end up not looking as good as you had hoped. As a plus-size woman, you need to show off your curves the right way. That’s the reason you should ensure you buy stretchy outfits for your Valentine’s Day celebrations.

There are several things you can do to dress in a sexy way this Valentine. Over the years, women have been advised to conceal the belly. This might only make your belly look baggy and unflattering, something that you might not want. So, instead of doing everything possible to hide your belly, why don’t you try a cute, stretchy top? The top will be able to bug your body closely while allowing you to comfortably move around.

What if you come across a baggy shirt you really love? There is a simple hack that can give you the sexy look you want. What you need is a wide belt that is capable of hiding the extra fabric. It should be a belt in which you can actually tuck the fabric. Having said that, I have a suggestion of several hacks to help plus-sized women to dress sexy this coming valentine.

The first hack for any woman, not just those who are plus-sized, is to show some skin. An obvious suggestion is to wear a turtleneck for your Valentine’s date. If you show up all covered up, your partner might end up viewing you as someone who is unapproachable. Showing a little bit of skin gives you an alluring, youthful look. For instance, you may want to wear skinny jeans and a handy skin-exposing top, accompanied by delicate chains and dainty bracelets. And, why not? Adorning a dress that hardly touches the knees is another hack you may want to try.

Ever found yourself trying on an ill-fitting dress just because you like it? Surprisingly, this is something that most plus-sized women have dealt with. The only problem with tight-fitting clothes is that they tend to make you look tacky, dowdy, and worn-out. Girl! Who wants to walk around looking silly and sleazy? That isn’t what I would call “sexy”. A plausible hack is wearing a low-cut V-neck but without a mini skirt. A full skirt will do the trick! The opposite is also true. If you prefer a neck-hugging top, then combine it with a mini skirt.

Another hack I have tried and which really works is layering. It is as simple as combining a shirt with a tank top. Not only will you get to hide the bra straps but you will also avoid having to deal with a see-through shirt. Wearing a tank top under your shirt can help you with a loose-fitting shirt. If the tank top is form-fitting, it will go a long way to hold everything together. Another great layer is a pair of leggings. You can wear them under jeans, especially if they are more form-fitting. Besides, it will be easier to remove your jeans when the time comes.

We all understand the place of the red color on Valentine’s Day. However, you don’t have to stick to it if it doesn’t compliment your skin tone. For instance, a warm skin tone works well with red, orange, peach, amber, coral, gold, yellow, and other colors from nature. But you don’t have to pick a certain color if you don’t like it. Instead of going with the bright colors, you may want to pick their darker versions like navy-blue, violet red, and olive. Still, there are several colors, which go hand in hand with all types of skin tones. Examples include eggplant purple, teal, light-blush pink, and pure white.

One thing you shouldn’t do while shopping for clothes is sticking to your size. That’s because different brands tend to have different sizes. For instance, you might find a pair of jeans with a label reading a small size that can perfectly fit you. Or, a large-sized pair of jeans that are too tight for your comfort. The trick lies in trying on every piece of cloth before buying it.

In a similar fashion, the shape of the attire also matters. For example, you might find a cloth of your size but with an ill-fitting shape. Unless you want lumps to form in certain parts of the body, avoid such clothes. No one is going to be attracted to a woman with lumps all over her body. So, pick only outfits that are cut to shape. Some of the most common shapes include the hourglass, diamond, rectangle, figure eight, oval, triangle, and inverted triangle. What shape is yours?

If you find yourself not liking any particular style of outfit, simply buy a dress. Dresses come in different styles. You may want to try a fit and flare dress, for instance. These dresses are great for any body type since they have a way of complimenting your look. It will enhance the curves and give you a sexier look. If you want, you may want to add a pink belt onto that black dress you just can’t resist.

Importantly, only wear outfits that make you feel sexy and amazing. You will be surprised at the number of choices you will find when you go shopping for clothes to wear on Valentine’s Day.
