How Progressive Built Campaigns that Translates Across Party Systems, Governmental Systems, and Electoral Systems
In terms of the policy, the populists and the progressive developed a different approach with the populist concentrating on economic demands explicitly built upon the principle that society is divided into two major classes (the rich and the poor) who happen to have different long term interest. The progressive held the same view about the economy but stressed majorly on the scientific planning of both economy and society at large. The difference between these two political philosophies is likely to play when forming party systems, governmental systems, and electoral systems.
Party Systems
As a hired consultant for large international consulting firms, I will build campaigns along the party system that advocates for progressive reforms in the society to harness the power of the federal government to eliminate the unethical practices an unfair practices that have continued to create division in the society. My campaign slogans would be equal distribution of resources to eliminate economic imbalances that divided Americans along the party lines for quite a long time in the society. Within the party lines, I will urge the party to advocate for equal opportunities for all and create more jobs for the jobless. I will advocate for regional balance, with most resources being channeled to the poor regions as one way of improving the lives of the people who live in such areas. I will advocate for more industries, schools, hospitals, and other social facilities to be opened in such areas as one way of promoting economic growth and development in affected regions.
Governmental Systems
At the governmental level, I will focus on social reforms with a particular emphasis on issues that promote social inequality in society. One of the keys issues that I will tackle through the party system is corruption. Corruption is the root cause of many social vices witnessed in society. My campaign at a governmental level will be to take appropriate action against corrupt officials and lay down good policies to reclaim back the looted money. I will also advocate for social reforms to address historical injustices such as discrimination in society. There are individuals who live in abject poverty, yet the government regularly allocate resources to improve the lives of such individuals. Therefore, the governmental systems will come up with various policies to improve not only the standard of living but the general wellbeing of the society by advocating for equality. Therefore, at the party system, I will address policies put in place by the government to address poverty and other historical, social injustices such as racial discrimination in society.
In the appointment of government officials, I will ensure there is regional and gender balance in the appointment of the officials so that the appointed officials reflect the new face of the government. Most governments often have political manifestoes that they wish to implement once they get elected but fail to implement them once they are elected into office. My commitment will be to ensure there are equality and fairness in the distribution of government resources to its citizens. All citizens are equal and deserve similar treatment without making some feel inferior to others.
At the Electoral system, I will propose reforms to improve the credibility of our elections. When there is transparency, the losers cannot have anything to hide after losing but to accept the results. The electoral system should be fair, credible, and transparent to the candidates and electorates.
