How Trauma affects Child development.

Various factors determine children’s development. Nature and nurture are one of the critical factors that impact significantly on a child. Trauma is closely associated with the event of a child. What children encounter in their life has a significant impact. Therefore, this paper will discuss the effect of Trauma on children.

  1. DESCRIPTION OF AREA OF STUDY.

I decided to study at Lexington School. It is a dynamic school in the United States of America. Specifically, I was interested in nursery school. It is a school that the pupil-teacher ratio is professional. The school has a vast population of pupils. High society led to a close study of the children. Many diverse groups of pupils are in the school, and having the focus on accurate information is acquired. Categorically it has individual students who are well catered for by the professional teachers. Dyslexia pupils are standard in the institution, and special attention is given. The dedication of the management in handling children convinced me to choose the area as my part of the study. It is a serene geographical place that provides a conducive environment for the education of the pupils and a suitable environment for the teachers. Eventually, my research was successful, and I got adequate information relevant to my topic.

2.Effect of Trauma on children

Children’s development takes place gradually. Any impact of the development of the child causes adverse effects. Various factors around a child cause Trauma. I keenly observed the children and realized that in approximately two among 20 pupils in Lexington school suffer from Trauma. The observations were mainly in the classroom and also in the playing ground. Being an introvert is one of the critical indicators of Trauma in children. However, this occurs in children who earlier were extroverts. In a nursery school in Lexington school, I realized some children who looked gloomy in appearance and were quiet. In further consultation with the teacher, I was given the information on the sudden change of the child.

I discovered one of the children who looked sad because of his father’s drunk father. The child had the experience where he saw his mother being mistreated. Such action causes Trauma to the child. The child is more bonded to his/her mother when at a tender age.  The brain of a child is thus affected the most. The brain of a child develops gradually, and such an occasion causes the child to suffer from chronic stress. The mind creates a negative attitude toward the offender. The child produced chemical receptors that caused stress. Playing with other children is uncommon. The child tends to cry and always dull.

Trauma can as well be led by the abuse and neglect of ant type. In  Lexington School, the dyslexia children are keen on the way they are treated. Despite observing the teachers are highly trained and understand the areas of weakness, few challenges came along. Some dyslexia pupils felt neglected by the teacher in class . The full attention of the often fails because of the high population. The children cried when they sensed favors of any kind to their fellow pupils. Children learn mostly by observations and actions undertaken . The development of the brain is the first to be affected. The endocrine system of the child is altered . The interconnection of the endocrine system with the nervous system causes a significant impact on the hormonal imbalance in the child’s body. The development of the child is thus altered at a high note, and perhaps the effect may be permanent to the child.

The information on the ways traumatic experiences happen in children will aid in the future.  Children should be given adequate care. Pupils with special conditions should be treated with honor and in unusual places. The elderly, especially the teachers and parents, should behave accordingly in the presence of children.

In conclusion, the development of children is very critical. Different strategies should be employed to help children, especially by the government and other stakeholders.
