What is human evolution? Human Evolution is the gradual development of the human race from pure species to a sophisticated form; this has led to the emergence of the anatomically modern human. Human Evolution can be explained in various theories which this article will expound on. These theories include The Darwinian Theory. Another theory that can explain Human Evolution is The Lamarckian Theory.
Moreover, Biblical Theory can also be used to explain Human Evolution. Besides, Mythical theories are also used in some rare cases. The subsequent paragraph will explain The Darwinian Theory and how it is related to Human Evolution.
Consequently, Darwinism is a theory of biological evolution developed by the English naturalist Charles Darwin (1809-1882). The theory states that all species of organisms arise and develop through natural selection of small inherited variations. These variations increase the individual’s ability to compete to survive and reproduce. The Darwinian Theory outlines several stages of evolution which entail Australopithecus, Homo habillis, Homo erectus, Homo neanderthalensis and Homo sapiens. Like the Darwinian Theory, the Lamarckian Theory is also a scientific theory that explains Human Evolution.
Thus the Lamarckian Theory or Lamarckian inheritance is the notion that an organism can pass on to its offspring physical characteristics that the parent organism acquired through use and disuse of anatomical structures during their lifetime. It is therefore also known as the theory of use and disuse inheritance. Jean- Baptiste Lamarck (1744-1829) incorporated the action of soft inheritance into his evolution theory as a supplement to his concept of orthogenesis. Orthogenesis is the drive towards complexity. Nevertheless, Creationism is the religious belief that nature and other aspects such as the universe, the earth, life and humans originated with supernatural acts of a divine being. It is organized in two accounts; the first creation account and the second. The first creation account is held in a systematic order of days while the second account has no chronological order.
