The human service organization is a platform that focuses on improving the overall quality of life for the betterment of the community or rather the society. It is a critical element in the process of enhancing human experiences in terms of better health care services, education, and livelihood as a whole. Therefore, “human service organization” is an organization that explores how to provide essential societal functions. It aims at improving people’s well-being both individually and communally. HeartShare Human Services of New York is the best example of a human services organization. The HeartShare Human Services of New York (HSVS) intends to provide foster care, prevention, adoption, youth programs, and HIV/AIDS residential services to the New York people. It is also prepared to offer all developmental disabilities services.

The HSVS organization serves approximately 29,000 people in New York. This is achieved through its array of programs that assists people with autism spectrum disorders as well as other various developmental disabilities. These programs include vocational training and life skills, residential, educational, family support, recreational, full health care diagnostic, and case management services. They also provide adoption, after-school youth programs, and family counseling services. Additionally, in collaboration with the National Grid, New York State Electric and Gas Corporation (NYSEG), and other partners, HeartShare offers low-income energy assistance services.

Measuring the HeartShare program effectiveness is a challenging but essential thing to do, given that the quantitative results of the program are self-reported by the organization itself. However, this proves their commitment to being transparent, ready to learn, and their “heart” of helping the New Yorkers. Therefore, the organization can measure its program effectiveness by observing the difference in the numbers of people served, public events held, subscribers, people applying skills gained through the program, and many more statistical factors. For example, to prove that HeartShare is an effective program, in 2015, the total number of youths benefiting from the organization’s services was 2,819. This involves services such as job training, groups, skills, etc. However, in 2016 the number rose to 3,247. The increase in the number indicates the effectiveness of the HeartShare program (Candid, 2020).

Additionally, the organization has been solidly accredited ad trusted as a program that improves and transforms lives. HeartShare has also served the New York Community for over 100 years, making differences in New Yorkers’ lives. It has improved the well-being of over 36,000 New Yorkers. The various quality assurance departments collect data from participants for them to create a more cohesive workforce to enhance satisfaction.

Evaluation of this program will benefit the organization by helping it to adapt to the industry changes such as health care updates. On the other hand, employees will enjoy training opportunities, a learning culture, and employee recognition. Clients will also benefit from the improved services offered by the increase in fundraising repertoire, program participants, and peer agencies.
