Informational Interview
Informational interviews are conducted mostly by a journalist to company. These forms of meetings often give helpful insights into essential decisions to make. A new employee could ask a few questions to the HR manager in a bid to get highlights of what to expect from the workplace. A close interview with my HR manager revealed intriguing insights on his approach towards trending issues in HR and how to advance HR skillfully. In his opinion, the field requires specialty other than generality. This is as to help deal with emerging HR issues like the one witnessed in “the triangle factory” fire tragedy. This paper addresses the theme of the informational interview concerning the HR perspective.
The fire encounter was experienced at the onset of the early 20th century in Newyork city. (“Watch The Triangle Factory Fire 1 2 – Bing Video.”). The tragedy left many scores of dead workers, especially young women who were immigrants. The owners were accused of manslaughter but later released as they were found not guilty. The doors of the factory were always locked. Asking my HR manager his insight on the issue, he gave helpful highlights. He held that the owners of the factory should be held liable for locking the workers inside. The law of contract, according to my HR manager, requires the employer to fully take liability in cases where his actions lead to the hurting of employees.
Tammany Hall was a New York political organization that controlled the city politics and aided immigrants, uniquely Irish. Silent Charlie Murphy was the longest-serving leader of Tammany Hall. He also championed the investigations of the triangle factory fire tragedy. He incorporated two of his protégées, namely Robert Wagner and AI Smith who were the leader’s state senate and state assembly, respectively. HR issues surrounded the Tammany hall due to impunity.
