The newspaper reveals the enmity that could be brewing between British as Germany since it reports that a Germany submarine was responsible for sinking the British warship that had been sent to war on the sixth day of the same month the paper was published. The paper gives a clear picture of how the readers would be interested in international news since the international war news appears on the first page of the newspaper. The news on crime does not end with the warship story: the newspaper reports of the killing of bandits by military forces. The reports on forces taking banditry seriously present a positive way of reporting news by the newspaper. Also, there is negative news reported by the newspaper concerning the New York City when the demonstrations are represented as the largest to have happened in history.

The newspaper effectively presents both positive and negative news on the same page without creating controversy. For example, the news about reduced rent and prices is reported on the same page as the news on the killing of Limberg. The readers of the newspapers are presented with details about all the happenings of the world, and the choice of the news to read is individual’s. However, the news about war reported by the newspaper involves foreign countries, and no direct connection is made between the US and the increasing international unrest. Under normal circumstances, a newspaper would begin with appealing eye news to generate more sales and capture the attention of readers from a distance. However, the Brooklyn Eagle Daily uses the idea of presenting sad news and reports of international tension to capture the attention. The way of presenting news used by the Brooklyn Eagle Daily could be attributed to the fact that the newspaper had a variety of readers, or maybe the readers had also been affected by tension in the world and the first confirmation to be done on a paper by a reader was a confirmation whether there were fresh war threats. The news of war seems to narrow down to an individual level as the papers report several incidences of crimes that would in most cases result to murder — the 14 May 1926 paper reports of two motorists who fight each other leading to their arrest. Also, the paper reports how people have become inconsiderate when the news of armed robbery suspects who admit their involvement in crime is published. The paper also does not take police incompetence for granted by reporting the death of a man at the beach from a stray bullet from the police.
