For one to become a good leader, he or she must portray specific important values that include respect, courage, integrity, and humility, among others. In the business world, today, integrity is non- negotiable. It requires the desire to do what’s right even at personal level, selflessness and brutal honesty. An outstanding value that is possessed by good leaders is Effective Communication that has a high impact on the business operations of an organization within the business space. I employ effective communication in my day to day operations of Charismatic Leadership since it bears more advantages and provides a healthy working environment. During board and general meetings I use effective communication to communicate the vision and mission of the organization to the team members. Since the vision and mission are regarded as the driving factors of the organization towards achieve its set milestones. Possessing the value of effective communication I am able to draw my members internally, I use this to my advantage since I am able to identify good communicators supporters and critical players within my organization who are able to motivate and convince other individuals to buy into the vision. Due to technological development I use multiple forms of media communication that gives me a better chance to communicate the vision, new technologies such as internet helps in information sharing and not also forgetting tangibles such as t-shirts, coffee mugs that are branded that help to keep the message in rotation. I employ Effective communication since it helps me to build not only trust among my team members but also makes my team believes in what I say. To eliminate distrust and anxiety I communicating all agendas transparently. An essential aspect of communication is feedback since communication without feedback is at times rendered useless. I engage in one on one conversation and expect feedback from group members in order to access whether the message has been communicated effectively. In case of negative feedback I spice things up and change the mode of delivery to ensure the message has been understood. I employ effective communication since it helps me inspire my team members and all those around me.Bearing the success of the organization that I want to achieve with my team, I have to stand out and inspire them by continually making them workaround to achieve the set goals and objectives. The other outstanding value that I poses is Self-monitoring (Integrity): described as the quality and ability of having unshakable moral principles and being honest, positioned at the juncture of firm value and consistent action. Having integrity in whatever I do helps me to equip myself for the challenges ahead. Participating in honesty through being unafraid of inconveniencies and uncomfortable truths allows me not only to see the world how I wish it could turn to be but also the world in its ideal state. Denial to cheat or compromise to cheat gives helps me to avoid deluding myself, my team and the stakeholders and also gives me the ability to make the right decisions and do whatever is best for the organization’s interest. Awareness and commitment to the truth is knowing what level is left for me to achieve better personal goals, and through this it helps me to mentally grow and learn as a leader to continue delivering more to my team and the stakeholders at large. Self-monitoring is vital in my daily Charismatic leadership duties. Because it makes me accountable for the decisions I settle for knowing that the choices that I make are for the organizational good but not for personal interests, integrity allows me to conduct self-evaluation as a leader to accept and become responsible for my mistakes.

It goes without saying that for a leader who has instrumental values and excellent leadership skills, he or she also possesses weaknesses that try to weigh personal and organizational success down. However, my charismatic leadership has proved important since I  exert my influence on my team members to produce affirmative results, the leadership style also helps in providing motivation and gaining the support of my team and that of the general public. There exists a potential weakness in using the charismatic leadership style when delegating and leading a group of individuals who look up to you, and this turns out to be over-reliance where the entire organization and the employees over-rely on you as a leader. As a charismatic leader, I have been able to win over my team within the company over time by effectively applying my leadership style. The employees of my organization have since become over-dependent on me since they find inspiration in my leadership. The organization has since failed to see the significance of other employees as valuable assets in channeling resources needed towards organizational success as a whole. The team members are also associating me with the complete progress of the organization single-handedly. The beliefs of other company leaders and employees have burdened me with a lot of responsibilities to ensure that I keep them motivated and also to ensure the organization scales to greater heights. Self-reflection is taking personal time to complement, think, examine, and review oneself to increase self-awareness. In leadership, self-reflection involves creating time to review oneself as a leader; time designed for self-reflection is very crucial for developing leadership. Self-reflection not only consists of interrogating intrapersonal ambitions, values, and goals but also examining the individual skill level, behavioral patterns, and how the behavior influences people around you. It also involves conducting a strength/weakness analysis of oneself to determine the underlying strengths and to work on weaknesses. The purpose of self-awareness is to increase knowledge, authenticity, growth, and alignment. One of the reflection tools that I can employ to overcome the limitation of over-reliance and improve my leadership skills is The Gibbs Model of reflective cycle. The model takes into consideration the human feelings to reflect on learning from past or current experiences. The model begins by giving a brief description of an event followed by an expression of feelings about the event. The next stage is evaluation; value judgment is then taken into consideration to induce more understanding about even which, in our case, is over-reliance.In conclusion stage, visions on how the prevailing behavior influenced the results of the event are established. Ultimately an action plan is developed to help in case a similar event is encountered. Learned intuition on how to deal with a problem in the future is appended to the developed plan. To deal with the problem of over-reliance using the Gibbs model of reflective cycle, the first stage is to describe the issue, followed by drafting how I feel about the over dependency problem, after which I evaluate to determine the limitations and benefits brought about by this event. In the analysis stage, I will try and compare notes with other organizational leaders to ascertain if they also face the same problems. I finally draw a general and specific conclusion before making a contingency plan to help other leaders now and in the future to solve the over-dependency problem.
