Concepts of sound education policy in a community should not only contribute to excellent performance on a test, but it must capture a broad scope of teaching and learning process. The first learning is a continuous process throughout the life of an individual. Learning can occur consciously or unconsciously through various activities that a child or a person engages in. In a formal education center, set up reading beyond the curriculum has a significant contribution to the cognitive and technical capabilities of a learner. The curriculum is defined within a defined spectrum and covers limited content due to time and resources. However, contemporary life skills and knowledge are not core subjects or areas addressed by the formal curriculum. Studying for fun and beyond curriculum requirements is good behavior that should be encouraged because it enhances the development of life skills and knowledge. It offers students an opportunity to get an understanding of various issues of personal and social life as well as careers.

Another reason why students should be allowed and encouraged to learn beyond the syllabus is to instill good behaviors. Time management is a critical skill in life; for young learners, free time can be used in an unconstructive and destructive manner. Being engaged in studies outside the regular schedule of the school is a positive way to manage free time. In the process, learners increase their database of knowledge and enhance their capacity to comprehend and relates general life occurrences. A process that enhances the healthy development of cognitive abilities without compromising education policy should be supported. Time limit cannot allow teachers to address all issues that learners to learn and thus necessary to complement class knowledge with personal research.

The purpose of learning and education is not oriented to tests performance, but it is an engagement with a scope sphere of influence. Teaching and learning should enhance emotional development, behaviors, and to improve life skills like socializing. Some of the issues that learners can encounter through further studies can enhance their emotional development. Psychological aspects modify internal learner capacity to perceive and respond to concerns. While formal learning intends to perfect social skills, life is not always ideals, and a learner needs to have a broad scope of knowledge to make the right judgment. A student who is well informed on many issues has enhanced social integration capabilities. Knowledge enhances individual confidence and self-esteem hence crucial in life. It is, therefore, necessary to allow learning beyond curriculum requirements. Students who engage in further studies acquire more knowledge that enhances their cognitive, social, and technical capabilities
