Life is a great gift
Life is a great gift and each one of us is lucky to have been presented with it. But are you grateful for your life? Are thankful when you wake up in the morning and you are able to take your first breath? Do you smile every time you realize you have limitless opportunities in front of you just waiting to be taken advantage of? I bet not.
We are at a tipping point in our lives where we are making decisions that is going to affect the rest of our lives. This is the time where we decide on what, where and when our future is going to look like, whether it is studying, working or taking a gap year. It can be a little overwhelming and that’s okay. The important thing to remember is that we shouldn’t get stuck in this whirl wind of questions because life will pass us by, and those days will never return.
All of your decisions, actions, dreams, ambitions, setbacks and struggles make up a part of who you are. They’ve sculped you into the person you are now. “In the end we only regret the chances we didn’t take”- This powerful quote by Lewis Carroll reminds us not to regret or look back on the things you’ve done in the past or the time and determination that you’ve had and used in working towards your dreams and goals. You may regret staying in your comfort zone, dreaming about what could have been accomplished, when you refused to even try. In doing so, you settle for a life that’s lacks excitement, just because you’re afraid to take that leap.
Living a meaningful life, full of happiness and excitement means that you have found the key and succeeded in unlocking your lives mantra. Have you ever asked yourself, “What is the meaning of life? What my purpose? Why am I here?” Research shows that purpose and the feeling of having meaning in your life is associated with the highest levels of happiness. Growing up, being young adults, we often suppress tiny things that make us happy. We tell ourselves that this is the time we should be less giggly, happy and reckless. But be all of them. Let go of things that hold you back from living a life of meaning.
You need to fight every day to lead a life you are proud of. But we deserve to cut ourselves some slack. Do not live a life where you settle for anything less than life’s greatest tresures, whatever you may find it to be. According to the WebMD.com, people who take vacations have lower stress, less risk of heart disease, a better outlook on life and more motivation to achieve goals. Break away from your mundane lifestyle and do something exciting, like the following quote says: “Sing like no one is listening, Love like you have never been hurt, Dans like nobody is watching and live like it’s heaven on earth.” Every day you start with a blank page and you can make the most of every experience and you should enjoy it.
Rediscover the child within you that know no boundary. The sky is the limit. Have a curious heart and a pleasant soul and be ready to take on any adventure you are presented with. Be as amazing as you were created to be. Enjoy your freedom as you are entitled to it and you deserve to have an amazing life. “In the end we only regret the chances we didn’t take” I try to hold this idea close to my heart. Don’t hold back! Own this life! Think of every experience as a unique experience. This life could be your only one so make it one that you are proud of.
Be brave and learn to fly, but also learn what to do if you fall
