Life-Long Learning and Striving for what is Around the Corner
Question 1
Throughout the text, Brook asks himself, “Am I crazy or what?” This self-talk challenges his life choices as he fails to understand how he could get as far as he did, even though he had challenges along the way.
Question 2
Brook took leaves and went on trips. Additionally, he interacted with friends and went backpacking in Europe as a means of rejuvenation. I always try to rest as much as I can. When I feel low, I talk to my parents or friends and go for fun outdoor activities. Nature has always been a therapy for me since it is so peaceful and reminds me why I should strive for higher ground.
Question 3
Brook was sometimes overwhelmed with work and school. At some point, he lost his mother. All in all, he managed to stay focused since he knew what he wanted and was always motivated by what nurses do in the world today. Self-motivation was, therefore, a critical factor that propelled him to what he eventually became.
Question 4
Brook might make the wrong choice again and end up going in a loop of not finding what he really wanted to do. Additionally, there would be a lack of motivation for continuing with his studies since he would not be satisfied with any new offerings in academic or career spaces.
Question 5
Life experiences give us knowledge of what we are and how we can learn from our own decisions. Negative life experiences reinforce our understanding of what we have to do in life to succeed (Helmstetter, 2017). Positive life experiences motivate us to dream bigger and strive for better grounds for our careers and academics.
Question 6
We can know we have made the right choice by the inner feelings we have. Full contentment comes with the right academic and career choices since we are motivated to work for success in that line. Additionally, the right decisions are coupled with both positive and negative life experiences that boost our motivation and self-determination for what we stand for in life.
