Mathematics functions and calculation
In mathematics, functions can be compared to manufacturing plants where something is processed to generate a product. In our daily lives, we encounter various functions without our notice. In my case, I have encountered various functions purchasing items using the vending machines as well as the eating process. Narrowing to the vending machine as a function, one necessarily enters a code to consequently what he or she intends to eat or drink. The code that is fed into the machine entails the input, while the item that one intends to get after using the vending machine is the output.
Engaging the Functional Notation
F(x)=x2+2x+3
Where: f is the function while the value of x is -3
F(-3)=(-3)2+2(-3)+2(-3)+3
F=9-6+3
F=6 so, the functional notation for the vending machine is f=6
Question #2
Reflecting on who won the race between Julio Jones at half speed and Rich Eisen at full speed, then at half speed, Julio would run twice to complete the 40 yards. Given this information, then the 40-yard dash entails 4.39 X 2 which will be 8.78 seconds. Reflecting on Eisen, he used 6.18 second to complete the 40-yard flash which is 2.6 seconds faster as compared to the half-speed ran by Julio. That is:
X=(8.78-6.18)seconds
X=2.6seconds
Reflecting on the notation, it is eloquent that the speed used by Rich when running is much faster as compared to Julio at half speed by 2.6 seconds.
When challenged to determine the point in which Julio passed Eisen after presenting Eisen a 10-yard head start, then it would be necessary to calculate with Julio running 30 yards while Eisen running 40 yards. when attempting to find out how long it would take Julio to complete the 30 yards, then it would be 30/4.39=6.83 and this means that used 6.83 to complete the 30 yards. on the other hand, it is eloquent that Eisen used 6.18 seconds to complete the 40 yards. so, when attempting to find out the point at which Julio caught Esien, then it would be meaningful to determine the differences which will be 6.83-6.18=0.65
