The opportunity to assist in the medical field without being a qualified Doctor is an exciting part of this career. Clerical support offers them emotional satisfaction by helping in the health care need of a person without bearing the risk of ultimate responsibility of a patient’s life. They can extend their care by helping a poor family by carefully processing their insurance forms to cover medical bills or help the doctor by correctly compiling medical reports of patients so as so ease doctor-patient communication.

In contrast to Doctors who dedicate almost a decade of post-secondary education before they start saving people’s lives, medical front office assistant only require a higher diploma. They gain experience by learning from other past employees or their supervisors (Beaman et al. 38). A medical front office assistant seeking to further their skills on medical terms and office practice can find classes in local schools. These courses take a shorter time to complete and cost far less than in medical school.

A medical front office assistant enjoys a clean and safe working environment. A hospital must always be clean and safe. Local governments set standards that hospitals and clinics must meet. They are regularly inspected to ensure they meet the safety guidelines. Bearing that in mind, a professional in this career knows that their work setting is safe and healthy. A hospital provides a teamwork environment. Doctors, nurses, medical front office assistants have to work as a team in order to achieve patient needs. This provides a channel where you can get an answer to a question or when you need to talk to someone.

Although the career of a medical front office being an exciting career, it has a number of challenges. A professional may experience long working hours. The fact hospitals never close their operation and might have a shortage of employees could lead to long working hours. It could also be a result of emergencies or the desire for higher pay (Hundt et al. 49).  This makes them lack enough time with their families, which leads to a misunderstanding between the married; this eventually becomes stressful.

A medical front office assistant will always be looked down upon as a subordinate. They will always be subordinate to the doctor and other superiors in a hospital. They might always be blamed on something by their superiors. Some patients will treat medical front office assistant in a bad way. They believe that they have to see a physician first in order to satisfy their medical requirement needs.

Working as a medical front office assistant is really exciting. The chance to make a positive impact on a patient’s life, offering help in a doctor’s profession, and enjoying a healthy work environment make this an exciting career. A career that gives the opportunity to help someone and checks on an individual’s health of someone offers social and emotional satisfaction.
