Minority Groups in the United States
Among the few first minority groups to enter into the United States included the Africans who came the country in the form of slaves. There were also the Latinos and the Chinese who served as a cheap source of labor for the Americans. The group which struggled significantly in their quest to attain full citizenship in terms of the natural rights were the African Americans. This group was subjected to a diverse form of segregation, which constituted the racial segregation. As a result of this, the discrimination prompted several civil protests and disobedience as the black Americans seek liberty and break off from the chains of discrimination and racial segregation. Up to the 1950s and the 1960s, civil unrest was actively experienced in the United States, specifically in the South. The movement advocated for the blacks to be granted some fundamental civil rights. Through these movements, some laws were amended, which included the fourteenth and the fifteenth amendments, which were incorporated in the United States constitution. The fourteenth amendment, for example, granted the African Americans equal legal and civil rights. The fifteenth amendment, which was of 1870, guaranteed that every American had the right to vote, and discrimination on the right to vote should never be based on color or race. Notably, everyone was to have an equal chance to vote. These amendments also tended to abolish slavery and grant African Americans citizenship. Through civil movements, the African Americans who were considered a minority group was eventually gives their civil and liberty rights.

It is evident that a capitalist state comprises the political society and civil society. On the concept of hegemony, a political; society tends to rule over civil society. This concept is what is happening in most of the countries in this contemporary world. The hegemony concept explains why civil protests are evident across several countries in the world as the civil society also want to be heard as they fight for their rights.

It turns out that individuals found themselves making decisions basing on incomplete observations. For something to make sense, it has become apparent that it will be slaughtered into a story. Either way, from the Gretchen Bus narrative, it has become inevitable for individuals to make independent decisions without referring to an event. As a result, it is apparent that anyone who has the ability to control a narrative, then he/she has a significant ability to alter one’s decision.
