Mission Statement Comparative Analysis
A strategic management mission statement serves as a guide towards company decision making across all levels of the organization’s management. It can be defined as a broad goal of a company. A mission justifies a firm’s existence. Therefore, a task is a statement that reveals a company’s reason for existence. A mission statement is made up of three major components: a firm’s statement of vision, core values that shape employee behaviors, and goals as well as objectives of the organization. A good organization’s mission statement is, therefore, a description of a firm’s function, competitive advantage markets, philosophies as well as goals. It defines and describes what a company is, its reason for being, and why it exists. The research, therefore, is aimed at conducting a comparative analysis of three different mission statements from different companies.
A great mission statement provides a clear purpose of the business and its set goal for success. It incorporates an organization’s culture and philosophies guiding the firm at present through the future. The sole purpose of any good organization’s mission statement serves as a firm’s agenda. A good and productive mission statement should contain seven critical dimensions which include: fundamental values as well as beliefs, competence, goal, competitive strategy and position, concern to satisfy all clients, and the products and services offered and customers served by the specific organization (Bailey, Mankin, Kelliher & Garavan, 2018). The following are the companies that were used in the analysis: Don't use plagiarised sources.Get your custom essay just from $11/page
