My Educational Philosophy
I believe that every child who is going through an educative process should be allowed to participate in their learning actively. I also believe that children should be availed of opportunities for self-expression according to their abilities. With this in mind, I plan to create an environment that children will find stimulating. This should allow them to participate in the learning process actively. I would rather have my students discover things actively than repeat information and expect them to memorize it.
I intend to make my classroom a safe space where creativity is appreciated and new ideas are developed. Furthermore, I will be welcoming to students and their families by encouraging constructive conversations and interactions. I know that children are capable of critical thinking, and my role as a teacher is to guide them on how to use this ability. To achieve this, I intend to encourage children to initiate learning activities. I hope to challenge them to think critically with open-ended questions and challenging material. I think teaching provides numerous opportunities to learn and grow for both the children and me. I dream of making students love learning and to instill in them a curiosity about themselves and the world around them. One of the ways in which I intend to do this is by connecting with my students at a personal level by sharing my passion for learning with them. My compassion, strength, and determination should go a long way in helping me achieve this goal. I strive to remain aware of the individual needs of each child, and I plan to exploit this understanding to develop children who can compete favorably in the competitive world that we live in today. I know that it is still early to form a solid teaching philosophy, but I will embrace change that comes with experience.
